It looks the same as getting gang to work with the revenant crew, its easy to get if you are using reach jacks or the maneuverable lights like the stalker or scavenger. That may be why people were recommending a kraken with her.

That may be why people were recommending a kraken with her. That's not entirely an accurate comparison as the Revenant Crew, and other models with Gang for that matter, share an activation, so both models will benefit from Gang, whereas with Flank, one model will not benefit at all.

Very true, I guess more accurate would be someone with gang fighter like Rengrave and the revenent crew.

You can always a jack in to give the other flank - might seem like a waste of an activation for a jack but sometimes it's what you need to take out a key piece. I do this when I play Deneghra 1 Merc pirates.

How has her feat been working out? Seems fun at first glance, but i figure committing two jacks to each target with only the second getting the bonus could be tricky in practice. Feat is good, but hard to use. Typically only half of my jacks can make it too a target charging. So I run some amd then chagrin with others. But if Morty plays up that far it's pretty dangerous. I think if her feat was control it wouldn't be overpowered. There's no reason it shouldn't be. Just through some clause in there that it has to be within 14" to prevent stalker spam.

Okay, so she has been out for a month, any success stories? I am going to try her out this weekend with the following list:
Mortenabra Numen of Necrogenesis +27 - Deathjack - 23 - 2 x stalkers - 16 - 2 x scavengers - 14 - Deathripper - 6 - Warwitch siren (free from infernal machines) - Machine wraith - 2 - Max Mechanithralls + 2 Brutes - 14 - Max Soul hunters - 18 - min biles + scarlock commander - 9 (free CA from infernal machines)

Let us know how it goes. I think, however, that light jacks aren't the best use of her and almost seem like a trap. Scavengers were my gut instinct too, but getting use of the feat now seems easier and more beneficial if you have the tools to force the opponent come at you (=some shooting, although stealth could be fine). An ambushing unit certainly helps to establish battle-line though.

Spell piercer and CoS makes revenants surprisingly effective. A similar list with Dark Host should be pretty good when that comes out as well.

I got to try out my list into a CoC syntherion list and was dominating the field until I made a rules error and it cost me the game via assassination. I am really liking Mortenabra 2, locomotion was crazy on the death jack. Being able to cast it on himself between attacks lets him move around a little bit to kill more stuff.
The rules error I made was locomotion thinking I could target Mortenabra with it, I kill his heavy that had reconstruct on it, locomotion up a scavenger into his face and was going to locomotion Morty up to keep going with the flanking feat turn and kill it the second time, when I re-read the spell and noticed target warjack...ooops. So I took back the move and attacks and was setting in front of two heavies with only a scavenger blocking. That didn't go well against a synergy caster.

Deathjack can't target himself multiple times with locomotion. You can only target a warjack once per activation.

But you can still do it once, similar to how you use to use Perdition like that with MK2 eSkarre.

Yes, I did get that part of the spell right, death jack would move in and kill some things, do a 1-2 point locomotion and then continue killing.

I know this sounds silly, but hear me out...
isn't Morty2 the perfect place to put one (or even 2) Helldivers?
The CMD limitation of her feat means they aren't too slow to be useful, they literally cannot be shot out before they get to enable the feat, and they're the cheapest feat-enablers we can bring.
Am I insane or are they actually viable with Morty2?
