With the impending release if our dear insectoid caster I have been lost building. But I feel lost. So our what does she want? What helps her? What doesn't work? Who has tried her out already?

I've seen lots of people saying she's actually kind of bad at running jacks (that's certainly my experience), and her big Spellpiercer aura actually makes her a better infantry caster. Maybe even a Ghost Fleet caster with a bunch of pirates.

Maybe an inflictor and deathjack with ghost fleet and a couple of lights to proc flank... Just remembered deathjack doesn't work in ghost fleet. What jacks would you run? Or would you run Infernal machines?

I saw her as a light jack spam caster for the feat, maybe a body guard or two, and then infantry and support. I made an infernal machines list I wanted to use with her.
2x scavengers 2x stalkers reaper slayer 2 x warwitches machine wraith 2x pistol wraiths necrotech max mechanithralls + 2 x brutes max biles + CA
I think it brings an answer to anything except khador jack spam, and even then, with flanking lights they cant stop, you could assassinate pretty easily.

i was thinking kraken. the +2 arm and being able to use a whole side bc you cant kill it is nice. then use 2 scavengers to get 5 dice on the charge?
get the kraken in 2" combat range. feat, charge with scavengers. then locomotion away? meh locomotion might be a waste...

I was trying to lean away from using the Kraken. But it would be good. Also scavengers have sprint, so locomotion to get away on them would be a waste.

My list has the Kraken, 4 scavengers, and two seethers as her battlegroup. I may have a problem, but considering the lights managed to take out a Galleon under Broadside Bart, and the Seethers just stopped a Haley2 feat turn cold by finishing off a Stormwall with Countercharges, I like it.

I was thinking about shooty Ghost fleet version
Morty2 Kraken 3x Light - either scavenger 1-2 or night wretch 1-2 3x Small Revenant + 3 Rifles
Free Rengrave Free Hellslinger
I got +1 start so Kraken can get up the field. I got revenant screen so its not so easy to get into the Kraken and with 21 armor he is pretty safe against most of the shooting.

Maybe we should do a more detailed breakdown of her abilities and examine her bit by bit to see what emerges. It seems to me that she has a useful kit, but nothing is really overwhelmingly good except Spellpiercer in some situations. Locomotion more or less requires a focus-efficient 'jack considering that it eats almost half her focus... maybe this actually is useful for moving Stalkers/Scavengers around for spot removal or to let them dig deep? Otherwise it's kinda like....Seethers/DJ?

Yeah, I know, I'm just not certain that one is going to survive an errata round (because it feels like an oversight), but also it's a lot of points to pay for the ability. Not totally sure it's worth it.

Not totally sure it's worth it. I think its fine. The distinguishing feature on locomotion is the expense. Its not cheap like vanish or as far as teleport.

Progress report. Had some success with her using a variation of this list. Still tweaking so far. Any thoughts?

How has her feat been working out? Seems fun at first glance, but i figure committing two jacks to each target with only the second getting the bonus could be tricky in practice.
