Im also wondering out loud if Horgle1 will see a return to any lists now that he and his beasts will contribute towards the point is a more effective way.

Did they say why they are changing elevation bonuses? It's one of the intuitive and real world applicable rules. nothing like, "Oh there are guys there -they pop smoke- DAMN! I can't shoot my AOE's at the exact location those guys were, they are clearly gone now!" I think they are doing that because the old rules made everyone play on a strait flat surface. If hills are just esthetics, you could actually do very nice and natural terrain without randomly giving out +2 def to everything. This would mean you can actually play beautiful 3d terrain boards (including their own boards at L&L). LOL. This is a terrible logic. Hill terrain is the worst everywhere I have ever played. Even if it doesn't grant a bonus so many models are so oddly balanced the tip over when placed on any kind of angle. The 2D hills were great for breaking up the look of a board without interfering with play. I've never seen the issue with 2D terrain when its done right (throw some trees on your forest templates, use some 3d structures, etc). I don't know, I'm waiting to see what they do, but it "feels" like losing hills is a solution looking for a problem.

Im dojoing circle atm, and i have a whole bunch of new and very interesting options to try out. I find that casters that want a slightly bigger battle group than the 2 basic heavies now have some really interesting builds in the infantry based themes. There might be some gold to find with casters like Doomy 1 or 2 and some other casters that supports beasts but do not really gain much benefit from spamming them. If you play like 3 heavies backed up by self sufficient infantry and add in 3 free options you might have something new and interesting to try out...

The Troll community has been pretty vocal in their contempt for Horgle's garbage battlegroup limitations since MkII. I don't see any reason regarding why PP will suddenly figure it out now. Without going too deep, seems like there are some easy tweaks that could make Horgle viable.

My kiddo is now a year and a half old, and I'm starting to reclaim some free time. Perfect time for PP to freshen up the game a bit. Especially since I was a bit down on Trolls before my whelp was spawned. Similar to what Trollock was touching on, here are a couple things I'm excited to try now that we can live with out our "free point guilt!"
1. Runes of War (Light) - Doomie 1, PoD list with two units of Runeshappers. Still think they're a bit over costed, but maybe it works now. Might help shore up the scenario game. 2. Super Friends List - Doomie 2, SotN with Rok & Mulg 3. Borka 1, BoH with Wrong Eye & Snap Jaw + Champs 4. Ragnor, PoD with Brigands 5. Borka 2, No plan yet. I just really like him

Problem of Horgle1 is limitation to two light beasts that one is worst light beast trolls have and second is taken mostly for damage buff to Borka2 or fury-backup ranged beast that support also fire-eaters. As Trollock said I think new theme rules open us list building a lot. What I have build lists recently for SR19, I have came to problem that you want third beast to score zones far on each corner and you also want combat solos to score flags on middle. New theme-rules really help that problem out. Not is just open three heavy build, it also opens up king+light option that used to cost yuo 5p extra. Definitely big thump for PP.

I'm really liking the doomy1 list. rok and the GK have great synergy. Why the HH though?

Do you not think that Rok and the Glacier King would like +1 to hit? I think they would enjoy that a lot!

I'm really liking the doomy1 list. rok and the GK have great synergy. Why the HH though? I wanted the HHH for RAT 6 on the GK. With Fortune it then reliably hits heavies with its gun and you can give em 3 boosted POW 16s a turn which hurts almost anything. Rök with MAT 8 (without Primal) also is better at surfing with berserk and goad. Raiders also like the MAT 7(=9) RAT 6 i think. I think it is probably good enough to pull its weight here
