Good day to all. I have been playing Warmachine and Hordes on and off for many years and it is by far my favorite game to build and paint as my primary means of therapy after my daughter go to sleep.
I recently picked up the Trollbloods half of the two player box. Added Fennblade UA and Fell Caller for a tasty little 25pt skirmish force. My question is... which Troll 'lock is the "hardest" to use? Not necessarily the worst but just the hardest to net a win with. My assumption is Jarl but I was wondering what the communities consensus was.
Thank you all.

Heya and welcome to Trolls! This is personal list obv. but for me currently Madrak1 and Grim1 hold the podium. Even thou Grims assassination run is still really good it just doesnt seem to work for me.. might be local thing but usually ppl play with lots of jacks/beasts with couple of shieldguards. As for the Jarl i ripped off shamelessly Trollocks list (the 5 heavy one) and been doing allright with it. There should be post about the list lying somewhere here on troll forums.

Jarl or one of the grims are the "trickiest" to use, as a lot of our casters can just brute force it with straight forward layered buffs and smack around the opponent. These guys are more finesse and require some thought with movement shenanigans or a setup for assassination. That said, I don't think they are the worst, just the finessiest.

Jarl has a LOT of options indeed. Outside PoD he does not have the FURY to utilize them imo. Gunnbjorn also has a lot of things he can do, especially with that wall. mastering wall placement will grant you a huge advantage. Grissel 1 can adapt to the situation at hand with her fell calls. Picking the right one is a skill for sure. Grissel 2 and Grim 1 are both very dangerous assassins. Figuring out how to pull the trigger is a fun puzzle to solve. I assassinated Doomy 1 with Grisel 2 at a tournament with 3 transfers and 5 shield guards and behind two layers of models. No luch required really, but the opponent sure didnt see it coming on turn 2 Calandra has Befuddle. Moving your opponents models is the most fun thing ever. Moving an infantry around and near their caster could allow you to shoot that guy with a War Wagon and knock down the caster for example. Borka 2 has counter charge for his beasts. This presents your opponent with new things he must count on when designing his plans. Doomy 1 had Rampager and Guardian Beast, and that opens up a lot of interesting plays. Bonus points for having your GK shoot an enemy heavy and push it out of melee with one of your other beasts, or have it punch ad stationary something that gets too close, or have Mulg crit slam something that comes too close (all Doomies can do this to an extent). In addition to casters i suggest playing a Swamp troll. It has a lot of crazy assassination options with the drag and dual attack. Whelps are also a high skill option. Try playing with two (free) units in PoD and watch your opponents plans fall apart as whelps pop out during their turn! Trolls are not a super trixy faction, but we have some things for sure

Grim 1 is not difficult. He's just under-rated.

Doomie1. I just can't really figure him out. He has some cool tricks but I always seem to get him dead before I can use them.
