Can we talk about Iona's Elite Cadre? It feels overwhelming for that to be all over the board. The game is about positioning and choices and not having to think about Elite Cadre Dodge seems too good. Im going to try and organise a game against the biggest baddies out there (Anamag PT, Gasby3 Slayers, Ossrum) and see of the Cadre just stomps all over them I would agree that it was over the top if Iona had a def boosting spell like Madrak1. As it stands though, she only buffs one unit. If your opponent has any sort of hit fixing they can hit your buffed unit semi reliably, and your unbuffed units don't have defense high enough to trouble most opposing armies. At times it will be really good, but it is far from oppressive from what I have seen. I think in the end it presents a question your opponent has to answer. The answer just happens to be one of the most commonly brought tools in hit fixing.

She casts Carnage, uses Withering Ash, and has has Warmongers charge at Mat 12, swing at Mat 10. Ossrum? He sprays or shoots them with powerful attack gunbunnies. Or he just bulldozes them out of all the zones and wins on scenario (at least until the bulldoze nerf goes through) Gaspy3? Depends on the type of list. If it's based on Bloodtrackers or Wolf Riders, he just laughs at the damage and pushes through to Iona. If it's Ravagers, he's in trouble, but that's on the strength of P+S 18 charges, not dodge. Most top lists these days solve for defense in some way.

So CID is now closed. What are every bodies' impressions of the end of week 3? So based off current rules my biggest take always are: -our beast stable is actually really strong now -Devo Host is gonna be stron as crap under morv1,2 and Wurmy -Lord of the feast + Grayle/Baldur+ DI + Pot will end lots of games. -Mohsar and Wurmwood are gonna Run Tharn gunlines like champions...Tharn gunlines!!!! -Raptor is probably too strong with 6” pulse. -Well might be the first structure I actually buy.

The pulse is terrible. Desperately hoping they give us back lightning generator. The week 2 rules were perfect

Way more changes than I expected. But nothing I think is over the top. I'm envious of the goats. I wish Iona's spell list had a little more "always useful" and less "once in a blue moon" useful.

I strongly disagree the raptor is OP in his Wk3 ruleset. He is great if your opponent is terrible, but seems to be easily played around by a smart player. At best, the threat of the 6 inch pulse is a reasonable deterrent to your opponent and will make them play around it.
As for the rest of the CID, I am quite pleasantly surprised. The only unit that I don't love is Wolf Riders, and even then I can see a niche role for them. I didn't expect BloodPack to be interesting in the slightest, but if they keep their week3 rules they will have a really nice place. Our living heavies ended up in a good spot as well. Not excited about the riphorn animus staying the same, but basically everything else looks good.
Also, big shout out to the Lord of the Feast. If he keeps his week 3 rules I will play him in both COTW and Dev host. Really really stoked to play with him.
How long does it usually take for CID rules to release? Looks like about 2 months from my research on previous CID cycles. If that is the case then we can expect these rules to release in mid November?

uh, 3 of her 5 spells are always useful, 1 is overpoweringly good when you need to face down a gunline (WG rockets? that stupid CG list?) and Abbatoir is meh.
Seriously +2 def for a unit is rock solid. Pursuit is always going to be good out of turn movement is always good Hunters mark is always going to be useful. Extra threat is always good

Pursuit is a meh spell on every caster that's got it. If it ignored free strikes then it would be better. As is your opponent controls when it goes off so its easy to either bait the battle group model to come forward into threat range of other stuff or ensure that your opponent gets very little use out of it. Its too situational and is difficult to cast far enough forward especially in DH where your only node is a grove.
Hunter's mark is good but that spell can be taken in any list for 4pts with Lanyssa. Having to use up one of your caster's spell slots for it feels bad man. Plus she has to get way up field to be able to cast it putting herself at great risk ... unless again you have gallows which are limited.
Iona is a walking feat and def buff. Not a bad place to be but hardly compelling.

I... have to...gah! Agree with Pizza. Pursuit is far to uncontrollable to be reliable. Late game when pieces are limited it would be better. But by then Iona probably doesn't have a battle group left. So it's still Good as a way to move Iona. But nothing I feel is an "always" spell. Being able to boost hunters mark and arc node it is better than the credit it's getting. Spell slave is a bit of a waste as has been said; it's not terribly hard to get access to. But treating Gallows Groves as if they are some unusable model is just not true. In a theme that wants mass infantry for max free points and theme benefit. Sacrificing a free model and said benefit for a pair of bark nodes is not so desirable in the eye of many. But it's still good. Abbatoir is a weird jack hammer wannabe Sure foot IS great
Phantasm is, in my opinion, situational with access to stealth, prowl, and just generally standing behind the forest your than can see through. In open field (bad terrain placement) and/or into insane guns it would be worth it's weight in gold. But I think if that's what you're facing you should have just brought Wurmwood.

I agree with ForEver_Blight on this one. Phantasm sounds like a great spell, but in reality its effect on the game is minimal. Wow, you protected 1 unit from shooting, so your opponent shoots the rest of your army? It will have corner case uses where it is excellent, but by and large it is just an ok spell. If you want anti guns just bring an anti gun caster like Wurmwood.

Where will the new CID rules be released? Looked over the CID Forum, but seems I overlooked new finished rules when they are done with internal testing.

Rules are made public on the Privateer website (card database) after the Dynamic update is released. Warroom gets updated same~ish day.
That all however will be about 2-4 months from now.
