is of course, my Lady, Grissel Bloodsong the fellcaller. And when they basically removed her feat I got pretty disappointed. And then they brought out the extremely overcosted Sea King, and I was feeling the blues all over.
So I have decided to challenge these two assumptions about sucky models and will soon be trying out a list I think has the potential to get some assassination going.
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points
[Theme] The Power of Dhunia
!!! Your army contains a pre-release entry.
(Grissel 1) Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller [+29]
- Dire Troll Mauler [15]
- Night Troll [7]
- Sea King [42]
- Storm Troll [9]
- Swamp Troll [8]
- Troll Axer [10]
- Trollkin Runebearer [0(4)]
Northkin Shaman [0(4)]
Northkin Shaman [0(4)]
Troll Whelps [4]
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6]
- Stone Scribe Elder [3]
The purpose of this list is to bring Sea King to caster from 16" away. All other models are there to clear the way for him, or to keep m'lady alive. Except the night troll. I just love the potential of it murdering any heavy that's gotten calamity on it. So. How rough of a time am I going to have?

Personally I would switch out the Storm Troll for a Bouncer for the animus and shield guard. I think it could have some play. You can threaten from a long ways away with that King(or any of the beasts really) and it doesn't necessarily need rage. I could see this list getting some work done. I've found our lights are pretty decent thought underutilized. I really like the swamp troll for drag shenanigans and the animus. Haven't played the night troll but with the proper buffs it could do work as you said and in the right situation the animus could really wreck someones day.

I am a fan of the multiple lights style list with her. She can buff them up so that they actually kill a heavy. Having the super long threat range of the SK is nifty too, though i think Doomy 2 does it better with his feat and Wild Aggression. If you are going to use the super long threat range, then you will not be able to land a Calamity, so the SK would have to rely on his MAT 6 which is not superb.

It might be worth a try at least to see if ot has legs. My gut feeling though is that Doomy2 will do it better. If you are going for a long range assassination then his feat and Wild Aggression would be more beneficial. Also Field Marshal overtake can help your other beasts to clear intervening models and then get out of the way a bit.

Between Rift and the Sea King, you have got to get an Earthborn in there. You could just swap out the Night and Swamp trolls.

Yes, I'm aware that Doomie2 could probably do it better. But he dies a lot easier than Grissel, and only threatens far on the feat turn. I understand the want for an earthborn, but he does not do enough to clear Sea King jam. My other problem with Doomie2 is that he is not my Grissel1, the greatest warlock of our time. Whens she's not out killing enemy models, which let's face it is most of the time, she justs sits at home feeling misunderstood. And that is simply not cool. She's also the only warlock that allows the Sea King to get two initials at the furthest distance. The biggest points I'm taking from this dicussion is "it's not the worst thing ever, and it's at least worth a try": edit: I will be playing this list for the first time in a team tournament this weekend. Because, why not go with wonky stuff when you're teamed up with people who hardly know you!

You got my creative juices flowing with this at least. Ill add a "new" Grissel 1 list to my random list thread for sure. 4 heavies + 4 lights
