privateerpress.com/community/privateer-insider/active-duty-roster-season-8-previewCalandra, Doomy 3, Grissel 2 and Borka 2 PoD and SotN Seems VERY versatile. All 4 can play PoD quite well, and at least Calandra and Borka (and most likely Grissel) can pull off quite a nice SotN. You have at least two caster who can play ranged focused lists, and all of them can play melee focused lists in a pinch. You can play battle group heavy, dude swarm or a balanced mix. It also promotes you to play 3 caster who are good, but not the current flavor of troll casters. I like it a lot. What do you guys think?

I would have to look at exactly what Dooms3 hates and compare to the other ADR lists. He's still a great warlock, and I'm not sure exactly why he isn't played, but with a limited field he could be even more powerful. I still like Grissel2 a lot. Borka2 is a known quantity and benefits from the limited field aspect as well. I've just flat out never cared for Calandra, I think it has a lot to do with that god-awful model, so I've got no opinion there.

On Menoth facebook group there was also mentioned that battlebox casters are always included to ADR. So Ragnor is also good candidate for PoD.

I really like Doomy3, but he has 2 really big problems. D3 is close to hard countered by grievous wounds and he has a lot of trouble on some senarios. You can take a MK to help the first but it really exacerbates the second.
Still it looks like a good group. Pretty much what you would want strong casters but not the meta choices. The worry always seems to be next season when it it KC plus BoH.

Or a new theme force which shall be previewed during lock and load in glut of new theme forces for everybody except cryx *closes eyes and wishes really really hard*

Pretty sure if they put in KC they know that they won't have Trolls that season. which could be a plan in it's own right.

Not that it really matters to me but why is Borka2 in again? Are there any others that are being carried over?

You can definitely play Grissel2 in the same list as Madrak1 but you're just worse in melee (Deflection < Even Ground) and have a kinda maybe assassination plan depending on how you build her BG.

Thinking a bit on doomy 3. What stops him cold here? Feels like grievous wounds is the main complaint, bit do you think we will see a lot of that with this setup?

Trollblood - the king is dead
Theme: The Power of Dhunia 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Hoarluk Doomshaper, Dire Prophet & Scroll Bearers - WB: +26 - Hoarluk Doomshaper, Dire Prophet & Scroll Bearers (Cont.) - Mulg the Ancient - PC: 22 (Battlegroup Points Used: 22) - Troll Axer - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 4) - Dire Troll Mauler - PC: 15 - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 14 - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 14 - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 14
Troll Whelps - 5 Whelps: 0 Northkin Shaman - PC: 0 Northkin Shaman - PC: 0
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3
This is the list I've been playing. It's the only one with 5 heavies I've been happy with. Lanyssa and a back up Mauler would be nice. Might even be worth MINing the stone, but probably not.
Express team are pretty common, even if the list they are normally have trouble with armor. Entropic force is also not uncommon. The thing is you're normally out threatened so you have to offer up something / eat an alpha. 1-2 options to stop healing is really all you need to drop 2 heavies and swing the match against D3.
Don't get me wrong he can be straight back-breaking into a lot of things and between feat and no knock down he has some game against assassination too. It's has been my limited experience that out of two list, one has an answer to it so you end up either not playing it or trying for the 80 or 20 match up. D3 also really don't like some senarios, but can be super hard to move out of a zone. When to feat is huge too. You have to hold it so they don't just back up and wait it out.
You have a point though, depending how the meta shapes up, maybe it is his time to shine. Even if it is not I'm looking at him with calandra in SotN with champs.

Two of the warlocks/Themes I've been messin' about with a lot lately are in this ADR season: Calandra (SoTN), Grissel2 (PoD).
Seems I'll be continuing to perfect my play with these two gals!

And I'm curious, which opposing warcaster/theme armies are YOU, TB enthusiast, concerned about? Poll anyone?

Anamag and Jalaam mean that you probably don't want to play Doom3.
