So what do people think of the human refugee? He seems like he'd be a sure fit in Kriel Company, but PoD could also be hilarious with a boatload of Impalers and a Mauler.

Leto is missing the steady granting that I've come to expect from troll casters, but between his feat and coordinated fire spell I think Leto could actually make Kriel company viable. Pow 19 bombers (with pow 11 blast damage) is something that might actually scare a few opponents.

The bonus is granted by hitting, not directly hitting. Leto and all the bombers, anyone? Maybe throw in an ice troll or mauler for flavor/fill, and all the free whelps you can get. I'm not sure what I think the optimal fill for the last 8 is. I'm currently leaning toward a Better life basher for the Animus. Yes, the list is hard countered by anti-blast and anti-shooting, but it would be hilarious otherwise.

I just find it hilarious that he has another casters feat as a spell (Caine3), and access to Veil of Mists, that is strictly better than Jarl's feat clouds.

A good example is signs and portents. Spell does the same dice modulation that a few casters feats do. But it was first. Why is it weard to have a spell that is the same as a feats effects. Personally caine 3, huge benifite is that his unit count to stack his battlegroups bonus so all your jacks can come out of the feat at a flat +3. I also kinda like the spell.. put it on a sloan 2 idea i stated in forums a few months back |

I think it would really help if he had a gun to start up the ‘gun synergy’. Using 9 point models to build up the bonus seems tough, especially when they have one attack that can easily miss.
I’ve tried to make a few lists, and always end up thinking ‘that would just be better with gunnbjorn or grim’. And, as trollock said, he just looks kinda boring.

Spears get to 21 with northelder instead; GK gets 3 pow 19's Leto POD Glacier King Mauler Ice troll x3 Swamp troll (dual attack lets it start the chain and do other stuff, pull+vortex of destruction also synergize, swarm is good on feat turn) Free Runebearer, 2x Whelps Mist speaker Max Stone+Northkin Elder Bellows crew (synergy with veil of mists) |
