On the topic of refuge, the non-battle group model I am most excited to use it on is Rhylyss. I just have to hope he doesn’t miss with kiss of lyliss...

Arm 20 with spiny growth, 22 with Bracer (but to me that's a last resort against an assassination attempt). It's just really pretty nice. Also, I'm with Lanz. Had no idea I could refuge non-battlegroup models. Need to read more carefully. As for reading carefully: Bracer is targer warbeast in spellcaster battlegroup only

I want to take a moment to really appreciate the sentence:
"Then under Alpha hunter He basically becomes a fat very fat Typhon."
and all the imagery that it sparked off within my head this morning...

Well, before CiD he went from speed 4 to 6. Same as Typhon. He went mat 5 to 7. Same as typhon. He has 5 fury and 3 initials at about the same pow.
I can't take Typhon in theme with Abby so, to me, he acted as a buff bot on top of being able to commit him to melee really similarly to Typhon. It's just hard to fit his base where you want it to go.

you guys are missing what I meant. Before the CiD AND Under Alpha Hunter he got those bonuses. I was trying to explain my "very fat Typhon" description.

Played in a Steamroller this past weekend and took Abby 1 with Vayl 2 as my pairing. Played the following lists. Went 3-0 winning the tourney playing Abby in the first 2 rounds and Vayl in the last round.
Legion Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Oracles of Annihilation
(Absylonia 1) Absylonia, Terror of Everblight [+31] - Angelius [17] - Blightbringer [32] - Proteus [19] - Seraph [14] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Sorceress & Hellion [0(6)] Spell Martyr [1] Spell Martyr [1] The Forsaken [4] Blighted Nyss Hex Hunters (max) [15] - Bayal, Hound of Everblight [0(6)]
Legion Army - 75 / 75 points
(Vayl 2) Vayl, Consul of Everblight [+28] - Archangel [37] - Raek [8] - Typhon [20] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Strider Deathstalker [4] Blighted Nyss Raptors (max) [18] Hellmouth [6] Ice Witches [7]
This was a tough tournament for my pairing in pretty much every round.
Round 1, Cygnar, Sloan, Standoff: I dropped Abby, lost the roll, went second, and resigned myself to losing my BB top of two. I consider feating turn 1 to try and have a chance of saving my BB but some quick math tells me I'll likely loose it regardless of feat. So I place my other beasts in cover to try and mitigate any further damage and save my feat. He kills my BB top to two as expected with the feat. I battle back killing all his murder ponies and tying up hunters with HHs. I miraculously pull off a scenario victory.
Round 2, Trolls, Doomy 3: Outlast: I drop Abby again, lose the roll, go second. Top of 2 he moves up aggressively and feats. I counter feat and I'm able to get a blightburst off on his earthborn and shadowbind it with a hex hunter I also shadowbind his Brawler as well. My Angel armor pierces a Mauler and Refuges back. The rest of my stuff backs off and I score 1. He positions and doesn't get much done on his next turn as he forgets to shake SB on his Brawler, can't on the EB, and Mulg and Mauler don't have any charge targets. I send in Proteus on the Brawler, roll poorly, and fail to kill. It is grievously wounded though with spirit and mind out. BB moves into left zone and shoots, killing Lanyssa. He kills Proteus with Mulg and puts some damage onto the BB but his Brawler can't hit much with no mind and spirit. He's left an opening for an assassination. The BB is engaged by both Mulg and the Brawler. Abby puts Playing God onto the BB, and warps for +1 spd, flight, and +2 strength. The BB does -2 def, no tough aura, flys over Mulg and Brawler with a free charge from the Sorc. and Helion, and eats Doomy.
Round 3, Convergence, Lucant, Recon: My pairing sucks here. He's running Lucant in Clockwork and Axis in DI. Abby is the better drop here for the most part but I don't think I'm going to be able to chew through the recursion if he drops Lucant with either list. I ultimately decide to drop Vayl as I'm hoping between the AA animus and Typhon's sprays that I can stay in the game but I'm mostly hoping for an assassination opportunity as my most likely way to win the matchup. I again lose the roll which is super bad for me as he goes first and advance moves most of his army. I have a low to medium chance to spell assassinate bottom of 1 with Lucant on no camp. I go for it using a Hellmouth tentacle as my channeler. It doesn't go well, needing above average dice and get well below average dice instead but I haven't lost everything, just my feat. The game grinds on and I get another chance when Typhon Admonitions into a charge lane on Lucant towards the end of his turn. Lucant is camping 3 but Typhon rolls abysmally even with a free charge and puppet master and I leave him 7 or 8 boxes I think. Typhon dies next turn by Lucant's own hand and some help from an Inverter. However, third time is the charm. The Archangel got beat up a bit from some reciprocator attacks the previous turn but with boundless charge can fly over a house and just barely have a landing spot for a charge on Lucant. However, he would take a lot of free strikes to get there. I heal up the AA for 8 with a Shepherd and 5 of Vayl's fury, clear off a couple reciprocators with sprays and a Raek. The free strikes don't take anything out and the AA gets to eat Lucant. I had no chance of winning this game otherwise but most people just don't see a gargantuan threaten so far.
Doesn't get any sweeter than this. I got to kill my opponent's caster with both of my Gargs.
The Abby list is super good and extremely fun to play. I highly recommend trying the BB with HH with her. Spd 6 flying BB is very good and nobody sees it coming. If you can manage to keep Bayal alive for multiple rounds blighburst plus shadowbind is very strong. I plan on keeping her in my pairing for awhile to come. I'm still getting more practice with her and she gets better for me every game.
Anyone else getting some games in with her? How's it been going?

Congrats and great write-ups! Thank you very much for sharing. Do you keep HH within range of the BB for stealth or has that really been a factor for you?

Congrats and great write-ups! Thank you very much for sharing. Do you keep HH within range of the BB for stealth or has that really been a factor for you? Thanks. In these particular two games the BB giving the HH stealth didn't matter so as the first game was into Sloan and the second had no guns but anytime I play into guns, having the BB trigger prowl for them is very good. They can be decent jammers too though and pow 12 on the charge with battle wizard can be good.
