What do you find is the best product for securing the cork to the base? Glues just seem to not hold as well as I'd like and was wondering if you are using something specific, or I just have garbage product. (which is entirely likely).

I just use super glue- blue-cap Gorilla Glue specifically. Never had a problem.

The normal super glue you use to glue models together works just fine. That or white PVA "wood" glue.

After securing it to the base i like to brush pva wood glue liberally onto the entire peice of cork and let dry completely. The cork will absorb the glue and harden, which prevents any crumbling.
