Hi all, yesterday I watched this video batrep from Advanced Maneuvers: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vms9GMfqPxcwhich is a showdown of Goreshade1 against Madrak3. Well, the Madrak3 list intriquiedme a lot. The list is: Theme: Band of Heroes Madrak, Great Chieftain -Glacier King -Max Unit of Kriel Warriors -Standard & Piper -Caber Thrower -Max Unit of Kriel Warriors -Standard & Piper -Caber Thrower -Max Unit of Kriel Warriors -Standard & Piper -Caber Thrower -Max Unit of Trollkin Fennblades -Officer & Drummer -Fell Caller Hero (Free) -Fell Caller Hero (Free) -Fennblade Kithkar (Free) This list intriquied me not because I think it´s the best list ever seen, but because that´s an example of what I actually want to play in Trollbloods: A Gargantuan and a huge bunch of infantry – that´s it! That´s my goal (not to say my dream). Well, that being said, how can it be done? Can you fellow players offer suitable ideas? I think there are lotrs of possible ways to build infantry spam with Trollblods, but I don´t have any clue on what might be a worthwhile consideration. Some ideas in no particular order: 1.) Grissel2 in Band of Heroes or SotH, each including a Glacier King. Glacier King + Grissel2 offer some potent assassination threat while the infantry does the scenario work. Grissel speeds up her infantry and offers additional protection during feat. 2.) Madrak1 seems to be every ones new best friend. Additional protection and hitting buff for the army, but a rather small control area. 3.) Calandra in SotN leading a rather combined arms force consisting of Raiders, Champions and maybe Kriel Warriors. Calandra + Glacier King offer some real assassination threat. Northkin units all posses a rather good DEF, meaning Calandras Star Crossed (in her huge ctrl) might help deliver the army and her feat should be really strong with all those possible attacks. 4.) Kriel Company lacks some real melee infantry but on the other hand is able to field some fairly cheap shooting infantry. Problem here: flooding the board with infantry IMO means that you have to enter scenario zones as fast as possible which somewhat prevents shooting. So what´s your opionion on this topic? How would you run a Garg + mass infantry list in Trollbloods?

Lots of casters can do it, it depends on what you consider mass infantry I suppose.
Madrak 1 (BoH) - Runebearer - Glacier King - Pyre Troll Min Stone + SE Max Fennblades + UA Max Champions + Skaldi Max Champions Fell Caller Hero
IS a good list, but only 22 infantry.
Madrak 1 (Boh) - Runebearer - Glacier King - Pyre Troll Min Ks + SE Max Fennblades + UA Max Fennblades + UA Max Champions Fell Caller Hero Gobber Chef
Is a worse list, but has more troops. You can spam infantry with a gargantuan with many of our casters and both the Band of Heroes and Storm of the North themes are good for this.

I do not think Grissel 2 offers any assassination threat if she does not have access to Snipe. 8" range on the gun means you will likely never get to a caster... Madrak 3 seems to be the best guy at doing this. He can give +2 ARM to the gargantuan and himself without spending 6+ points on a kriel stone, and thus can bring more infantry. I am not a big fan of the attachments for the kriels, so i would go for the "have more stuff" approach. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0agPc66GcF0o0o0oiTbK0b0cTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Band of Heroes (Madrak 3) Madrak, Great Chieftain [+29] - Mountain King [36] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Fennblade Kithkar [4] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [0(5)] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Fennblade Officer and Drummer [0(5)]

I ran this for a couple of games and it was pretty fun. Between the feat and the Long Riders (+King can slam or throw something in a pinch) you've got pretty good scenario presence going. Cursed Fate is pretty damn awesome with LRs since it works off impacts as well. MK is immune to spells, and even though it can be seen through clouds, they have to go through def16 (unless cold immune) Champions. Shooting can be a problem, though (until you feat, anyway...). I've since made a similar list, but with small changes (bg is Bomber+Impaler, Wrongeye is there because def16 starcrossed is hilarious, min riders to pay for WE), but if someone gets inspired by this I'd love to hear your experiences. Maybe it'd work with double Fennblades as well, but I only own one unit so haven't tested it yet. Theme: Band of Heroes 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Armory - Steamroller Objective Kolgrima Stonetruth, Winter Witch - WB: +28 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Mountain King - PC: 36 (Battlegroup Points Used: 28) Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3 Trollkin Champions - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 - Skaldi Bonehammer - PC: 0 Trollkin Long Riders - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20 Trollkin Long Riders - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20 Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew - Leader & 1 Grunt: 2

I think there's been some good options mentioned here. One guy that hasn't been mentioned is Madrak 2. Everyone's kind of shied away from him since he got hit with the nerf bat, but he's still an awesome caster and probably runs infantry spam better than anyone.
Trollbloods Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Band of Heroes
(Madrak 2) Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Mountain King [36] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Fennblade Officer and Drummer [0(5)] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Fennblade Officer and Drummer [5]
The synergy with the MK is less obvious with madrak 2, but he sort of likes his feat. The mk will sometimes end up surrounded by infantry, and he can use the feat to clear everything around him. This would work even better with the sea king, if you have one.
If you're also interested in a shooting list, running the MK with horgle in kriel company can be really fun. I ran this for a while before the cid changes and did alright, and it'll only be better with the new stone:
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company
(Horgle 2) Horgle, the Anvil [+29] - Mountain King [36] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Pyg Burrowers (max) [13] Scattergunners (min) [8] - Scattergunner Officer & Standard [4] Thumper Crew [0(5)] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10]
I know it looks a little weird, but the MK is so hard to kill under IR, and sluggers and burrowers can kill so many things under his feat. I liked it just because its one of the only ways I've found to use burrowers effectively. I've though about running this with Grim as well. You don't get the damage spikes, but the new feat will give you an extra turn to win with weight of fire, and his feat will let you position farther forward to keep the scenario pressure up, and the mk can assault spray and not worry about getting charged on the feat turn.

Thanks for all your answers! ninjastars: I like that Horgle2 list, though I´m thinking about a Horgle2 list with multiple Slag Trolls because it´s insane what these can do to constructs under Horgle2´s feat. Good call on the Seaking / Madrak2 interaction.
