Has anybody tried this? I'm particularly thinking double champs to make it more distinct from the Jarl storm quickened champs. I don't have the models or the time to test it, but it seems likely to be a nice combo.
Or bears. Speed 9 bears and long riders with parry might be better.
Here's a rough draft of the bear version:
War Room Army
Trollblood - G2 bear storm
Theme: Storm of the North 3 / 3 Free Cards 74 / 75 Army
Grissel Bloodsong, Marshal of the Kriels - WB: +27 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Glacier King - PC: 35 (Battlegroup Points Used: 27)
Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North - PC: 0 Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0
Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Trollkin Long Riders - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Northkin Elder - PC: 3
THEME: Storm of the North

Grissel 2 needs snipe imo. So, bomber + mauler BG instead perhaps?

I really like the look of this list! I’ve always wanted to try her with fire eaters, because fire eaters with parry sound disgusting. This looks a lot better any kriel company list I could come up with though.
I agree with trollock about snipe, and personally I’m not a fan of having a single colossal as the battlegroup, but otherwise this looks super fun. Might have to give it a go!

+1 to Mauler & Bomber instead.

Yeah, it's labeled as a rough draft because it is a deeply flawed list, but it has most of the stuff I wanted. I had wanted lookouts, too, but they got cut early to fit the glacier king. I'm thinking to ambush at least one unit of bears to keep the enemy bunched up for the rest of the list to wreck them, so maybe we can go bomber/mauler instead of GK? The single beast is something I am deeply uncomfortable with, but seemed valuable enough to bring up in discussion. I almost wonder if Mauler/Impaler would be better, as it would free up enough points for Horthol? I haven't played long riders more than twice, I don't know if they would bring Impaler+Horthol = Bomber into balance or if the bomber would always be better...

I can +1 Horthol. Linebreaker is deceptively good. Impact attacks become real nice when you can count on the impact hitting, and ~40% of the time critting, it makes getting through chumps much easier.

SPD 9 Long Riders slamming at 12"? Yahoo! They actually might make it?! Less need for Horthol when Grissel can KD the 3 SLAM (or impact) targets The only problem with Northkin Elder vs. SSE is no anti-Stealth/Incorporeal, for those always threatening Gris2 assassination shots. Why o why is the KSB only FA1?

Last night I played
Grissel2 (SotN) - Runebearer - Bomber - Mauler Max Champions + Sorcerer Max Champions + Sorcerer Max Raiders Max Stone + UA Fell Caller hero Valka Gremlin Swarm
I'll be honest I didn't rate it. I don't think making champs range 11 was enough of a boon. I also didn't like not having an out for stealth with Grissel2
I feel like it was often hard to move the stone first to get the speed buff out.
Also Grissel wants Snipe so you're probably looking at a Bomber, but negotiating both the bomber and grissel around Snow Drifts was a pain in the ass. The Drifts did nothing. I probably wouldn't run a Storm of the North list outside of a Northkin caster. Next attempt will be Borka1, Borka2 or Kolgrimma I think. Maybe if I had a caster with native pathfinder it might be a consideration.
I also don't think it's good with Grissel, which is strange, because she's good with everything.

Arcaux Would this make it any easier? You could put the snow drifts off to the side and use them for the Bears. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G7e0rjo0jjq6G6R0li-iZiZezeziTbKTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North (Grissel 2) Grissel Bloodsong, Marshal of the Kriels [+27] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Pyre Troll [8] - Troll Bouncer [9] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Troll Whelps [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [0(5)]

Sure, it is only one model who can ignore stealth, but Grissel herself put most stealth casters in the dirt without the aid of the bomber...
