I bought into Cygnar recently, primarily because I wanted to mix up my normal faction use, and Gravediggers was the perfect excuse to finally play Kraye. Anastasia+theme on a fast mobile warcaster is bonkers good, I'm loving it.
Thing is, I discovered Maddox in the process. Holy crap, for a simple warcaster she packs tools. Potential ARM skew, high ARM crack, melee and shooting threat extenders. She's super solid, and not in the normal jack of all trades sense. Two units of Storm Lances at ARM 20 on feat brings ARM serious questions alone, along with other goodies.
Looking at her direct competitors, only Tanith maybe brings a strong competitive package.
Whatcha all think? Do any other basic warcaster or warlocks measure up for competitive list building?

While Maddox is a good, very good(and boring) caster, but Cygnar Battlebox itself is bad because Lancer is useless for her, and Firefly is less useful for her too. Although it is the cheapest warjack for your Journeyman Warcaster.
If you just want to say for the battle box caster then... Kozlov seems good consider the experience to against him. No knockdown as well as speed bump seems quite good combination for Khador.

Yeah Kozlov is worthwhile. He hits that spot where he’s a little too balanced for a pair where you rather have two casters excellent in their specific roles than one caster solid on several roles.

I think tanith is arguably the best all round caster of all the Battlebox casters. She plays well in just about every theme, has a fantastic character warbeast, and is adaptable in a pairing.
I think Koslov and Madox are excellent but fit best in specific themes. Like Storm division for maddox and Legion of Steel for Koslov.

skornes battlebox caster is absolutely awful, but the overall package is decent since most people want a gladiator and a raider sooner rather than later. Savages i don't think anybody needs since enough were sold in mk2 battleboxes that if they were edible we could solve world hunger

Ossrum is pretty good! Though he doesn't technically have a battlebox, he's legal in journeyman leagues.

He has a really powerful theme and mortality is awesome in faction. You also have Chiron who is a really cool heavy

Agathia has become much more compelling in recent months. Before she was just Deneghra1 lite with a defensive feat, now that Deneghra doesn’t control as well Agathia is straight up better defensively, can accumulate Desecrators in themes that aren’t Dark Host, brings mass Ghostly to themes that aren’t Dark Host, & an RFP nuke.

So if there is a great xekaar list out there yeah it definitely includes chiron. i just shy away from recommending him to new players because it means you have to stick with noodle arms and noodle arms optimal list probably involves a lot of minions in DOA

Tanith, Ragnor, and Maddox are all competitive casters, somewhere in the A-Tier range for their factions.
Agathia is a solid B+ caster in a faction chock full of A-S tier casters.
Kozlov and Malekus have game in some specific themes and lists. Kozlov looks a fair bit better if the unyielding change goes through.
Kryssa is disappointing, unless you are JVM.
Helynna is deceptively bad.
Xekaar is hot trash.

I'd also not really say she does anything that warrants A shes just a solid all around package.
