Will probably be at WMW. Very exciting. Looks like he did at end of CID.

Nice. I had feared they would post-CID nerf him.

I don't get him. Can someone explain it to me? Deadeye on slingers really that exciting?

He's a Skorne warlock with a good gun. And a soft timewalk. And good spells. I really want to play him.

I don't get him. Can someone explain it to me? Deadeye on slingers really that exciting? It's valuable (as is a grievous wounds gun and the feat), but I doubt he'll change up my competitive pairings.

He looks decent. War path alone is very interesting to see although i don't think he wants a big battlegroup at all unless they have good def stats to make the -1 die really count for something (like archidons)

I'm with Granor. I see some neat tools on him, but nothing that really stands out enough to be something to build off of. When someone comes up with a build that's tested in a pairing that performs well in the tournament meta I'll look closely, but for now he's a pass.

My gut is that he has a lot of tech that will help win on scenario, but I need games to verify. Scavenger's Blessing, Vanish, and Warpath are great. Deadeye on Slingers, Arcuarii, and Incidiarii could be stupid excellent especially now that Incs are pow 13. With Arcs as weapon masters on the guns there's probably some dope stuff you can do with TyComms.

Okay, lists. This is what I'll be playing once PP manages to finally send me those damn replacement parts for the Immortals. So sometime in 2020: conflictchamber.com/#c9201b_-0Iju6U6U6S6u6u6u6v6H6x5Rft5Rft5Rft5USkorne Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Exalted (Jalaam 1) Primus Jalaam [+28] - Archidon [10] - Archidon [10] - Cyclops Raider [9] Ancestral Guardian [0(5)] Ancestral Guardian [0(5)] Ancestral Guardian [5] Extoller Soulward [3] Hakaar the Destroyer [0(7)] Void Spirit [4] Immortals (max) [15] - Extoller Advocate [4] Immortals (max) [15] - Extoller Advocate [4] Immortals (max) [15] - Extoller Advocate [4] Paingiver Beast Handlers (min) [5] I expect this to work into basically anything except for Cryx.

I'm tempted to go for a list that takes advantage of the warpath move to a heavy like Tibbbers 12' non linear and provide some high pow range attacks and a bunker for Jalaam to rest in. It does forgo snipe and isn't optimized for the feat... which IMHO is a trap
Theme: Masters of War 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Primus Jalaam - WB: +28 - Titan Gladiator - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - Tiberion - PC: 22 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13) - Bronzeback Titan - PC: 18
Extoller Soulward - PC: 3
Cataphract Arcuarii - Leader & 3 Grunts: 11 Cataphract Arcuarii - Leader & 5 Grunts: 17 Cataphract Cetrati - Leader & 3 Grunts: 12 - Tyrant Vorkesh - PC: 0 Tyrant Commander & Standard Bearer - Tyrant & Bearer: 0 Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5
THEME: Masters of War

Interesting. I'm working under the assumption that Deadeye is the trap on his card. There certainly is one, but time will tell what it is.
Any reason not to take a unit of cats with him - if you're going for MoW anyways? They should work really well with the feat and add some speed to a generally rather slow list. Not to be overly critical, but I am not at all convinced of the Bronzeback, especially at its price point.

Yeah BB is an interest one, I personally have have never regretted fielding him and I think with Warpath and countercharge he can get to some really interesting places.

I'm pretty torn where to play him. What you want is: -a ranged unit for deadeye -a beast with Snipe for his gun -a medium to high def unit with good footprint for his feat
If you go winds, you don't have a goot frontline Unit If you go MoW you have no Beast with snipe If you go Exalted, you lack a ranged unit
So I've made one list each and will be testing them.
I think he has a great lot of tools to deal with a lot of different problems and therefore has the potential to be the main caster in a two list setup. (second one will be someone with a damage buff...)

@dessert_hydra: It's probably a meta thing. If you're facing a lot of armor the Bronzeback is a valid choice. Around here it's Cryx and Skorne all day every day. st4inless: That's a good approach. And until Skorne gets further releases (approximately 50 years after the sun blows up) Jalaam will always be missing targets for some parts of his kit. The question probably ends up being which of the themes still allows him to play a well rounded list or a list that plays into its necessary matchups. I'm willing to bet that it's going to be Exhalted, but I could be wrong. He'll also be my all-comers caster for early 2018, but I'm not sure what to pair him with. And that's a question to everyone here: Are there any matchups the list I posted above cannot play into? Obviously Cryx is an issue, but we'll see how that shakes out with the ongoing CID and all the new OP stuff they're getting.
