Not sure if this has been addressed, but they do have a small use with Mulg. If they are within walk + cast of him (or within walk + cast of something that moves/is within 3" of him) they can cast Puppet Master at it and he can remove fury with Arcane Vortex. Not stellar, but also not the worst use them, ideally after he charges in and builds up a decent stack. Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather have +2 THR than be "incentivized" to bring the Knot, and it still doesn't fix the fact that they cost 6 pts you would generally rather spend on beasts in PoD (especially when you're already paying 22 for Mulg), but making the best of this lot.

I don't see a friendly/enemy clause in arcane vortex, so I don't see why you couldn't do this. Personally, I find a home for the Knot in more shooting oriented beast list, but thats just me.

Yeah, it would definitely work. I have made Doomshaper3 lists with one Bomber in them (and without a MK) to keep folks honest, so that's were my mind goes first. That said, there's still the cost issue of 22pts + 19pts + 6pts = not as much other stuff as I'd like. Still plan to try it. Maybe also with Doomshaper2, as even if the "Fury Vortex" (copyrighted!) isn't super handy, I certainly wouldn't mind having Puppet Master rereolls for those big alpha strikes.

Yeah, seems like it's one of those corner case tools. Not bad, but not going to come up often. lists with the DK, will most likely be in PoD, with lots of beast. Sooo, you probably have some free whelps running around. Still, there is something to be said about pro-active fury management rather than worrying about your whelps dying.
Good catch regardless.

It's even better: With Doomy3 you use "Scroll of the call of Troqal" "beasts spend 0 fury to cast animus" then Mulg go, spend all 5 fury, cast animus for free, and arcane vortex himself, now you can spend 1 more fury

Will they update Arcane Vortex to enemy spell?
Or working as intended?

Will they update Arcane Vortex to enemy spell? Or working as intended? B. This came up during CID and they told us to test it out. Since they didnt change it when the changes went live we can assume it is intended. I do not think they believe it to be an issue, and neither do i.

Proactive removal of Fury in the same turn?! Incontheiveable!
Alas, good when Mulg goes all-in Fury-wise AND there's not more than 1 opposing spell being sent his way (since ideally one would keep much Fury on him to Vortex as many spells as possible (?)) AND Dhunian Knot members are close enough to do this...
Interesting find. I doubt this will be used in my armamentarium much.

It's entirely possible that it gets hot-fixed, though - even if it wasn't intended - the fact that they are attempting to encourage inclusion of the Dhunian Knot makes me think they will only change it if there's a noted, egregious instance/s of it taking place (which seems unlikely).

Now if Arcane Vortex was on the Bomber, that would be egregious!

Now if Arcane Vortex was on the Bomber, that would be egregious! Perhaps a last minute Kolgrimma field marshal?
