Would like to hear other people's experiences with Grissel1, as I feel she can be a very competent pilot of a Band of Heroes list with the recent changes. She's probably really solid in the other themes as well.
My starting point:
Band of Heroes
Grissel1
^Sea King
^Runebearer (free)
Long Riders (max) x 2
KSB (min) + Elder
Sons of Bragg
Horthol
Fellcaller x 2 (free)
I liked the Sea King here for his threat range without the Axer and potential for huge damage output between Heroic Ballad and Boundless Charge. The Long Riders are back in a big way, and the main focal point of the list. Sons of Bragg are in there because I needed exactly 11 points and wanted to try them over a max unit of kriels.
Played the list into the Dreamer in Menagerie. I found that between super takedown, cavalry shenanigans, and reveille there was a ton of tech in my favor that went against the Grymkin player's abilities. The Sea King went in on turn 2 with Heroic Ballad and Boundless into a Skin & Moans and Cage Rager, but through a poor boosted dice roll failed to kill both. Was able to grind out a win, with the tuffalos really carrying me.
All that said, I don't love the single gargantuan battlegroup, as you're almost guaranteed to lose it the turn after you commit. I'm going to try this as the next iteration, which also includes Eilish for upkeep removal. With tuffalos as a backbone, it makes sense to be able to drop offensive upkeeps. The Dreamer put Enfeeble up (-2 atk/dmg rolls) on one unit and could have kept it there all game.
Band of Heroes
Grissel1
^Mauler
^EBDT
^Runebearer (free)
Long Riders (max) x 2
KSB (max) + Elder
Warders (min)
Horthol
Fellcaller x 2 (free)
Eilish
More fury generation, Mauler has pretty similar damage output to a garg with a lot less threat range, warders for protection of Grissel and long riders, upkeep removal/puppet master.
