Since he got released, I wasn't sure where I would want to field him. Nothing seemed to click, and I kinda back-burneed my interest. I had no idea Masters of War was going to drop soon.
I'm now blown away how awesome it suits Makeda2, and now I think it might be the right home for Morghoul3 as well. I'm doing my tinkering now, but I'd love to hear what the community thinks about it.

A good theme doesnt make a Bad Warlock good...

I don't think he's bad per say. But he's one dimensional, and not soo powerful that you can ignore that. His biggest problem is still Morg2, who does most of the same things, better.

If minions troops magically became counts as skorne troops (similar to beasts in theme) so morg3 could target them with any spells only then maybe we could have something good there.

I feel like one place where Morg3 could see play is with The Exalted. He can deliver 2 units well, 1 stealthed, 1 apparition. He fixes their mat issue (blind), he lowers their soul usage with feat and AGs and Hakaar find feat hilarious and dangerous since they are capable of assassination.

I dont understand why you would use Morghul 3 - He has 2 good support spells 1 good Control stell- wehre her lacks the Fury to cast it, doesnt hit reliable, and lacks an arc much tooo complicated for him to become dangerous himself - he doesnt offer something another Warlock doesnt do way better. he could be a Ghostfleet drop- unfortunately cryx has more to offer then that- and he doesnt cover anything else

I dont understand why you would use Morghul 3 Yea I am there too any list I have come up with morgoul2 is better in. that doesn't mean he doesn't have lists he wants to run but I have not found any. Masters of war is going to take up a bunch of my game sessions now to see if it can be a cryx drop and how powerful it is. my second list will have 2 SA in it for sure, I am just not sure what I need it to cover or what theme I will use yet. Or basically is it a cryx drop or not. The minion CID will impact both of these lists too.

Then I would try something like that - might work into the Fleet- but I am not convinced: War Room Army
Skorne - Dominar Morgul
Theme: Masters of War 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Dominar Morghoul & Escorts - WB: +25 - Dominar Morghoul & Escorts (Cont.) - Aptimus Marketh - PC: 5 - Archidon - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 10) - Titan Gladiator - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15)
Extoller Soulward - PC: 3 Eilish Garrity, the Occultist - PC: 5 Extoller Soulward - PC: 3
Praetorian Swordsmen - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Praetorian Swordsman Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard: 0 Legends of Halaak - Valgesh, CIdaar & J'Deth: 8 Praetorian Ferox - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20 Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 Praetorian Swordsmen - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Praetorian Swordsman Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard: 0
THEME: Masters of War ---

Skornergy of the highest order. I think he's much better in MoW than the Exalted and worthless in DoA.

Thats about how I feel as well. In MOW he makes a pretty good combat caster if you an archidon with him to give him sprint. Assuming a tyrant gives him the speed buff he can sprint back 9 inches and then reposition 3 back so 13 inches from his target if he uses all of his 1" melee reach. He also has marketh in MOW to blind things for him to turn on hidden blade. Also He does a good job of delivering swordsman with occltation and Mirage is good on a number of different things.

1. you cant stack reposition and sprint 2. he needs to blind his target in order to do damage- way to complicated 3. His spellist is to bad for a caster that often has to play without a feat 4. he lacks the fury to do what he likes to do

His spellist is to bad for a caster that often has to play without a feat 4. he lacks the fury to do what he likes to do Don't both Sprint and Reposition trigger at the end of his activation (sprint only if you kills something), what stops them from stacking? As they trigger simultaneously it was my understanding that you got to choose the order in which they resolved just like for example a model having overtake and sidestep. If you build your lists right youll have marketh and willbreaker or two which means marketh can cast nights reflection, with puppetmaster on him, and be able to boast his attack roll with a soul. If that fails send in one of his escorts to smack your target with puppetmaster. So its not that hard to blind someone. He is an infantry caster, so longs as you dont load him up with only beasts how are you loosing his feat? Looks great for MOW or Exalted theme lists both infantry spam. Have Marketh in the list to help upkeep and to cast nights reflection for him and he should have plenty.

See Page 33 Rulebook: you have to choose 1 end of activation movement It is obvious that you take an Infanterie List. The Problem you might have Is: 1. a lack of damage 2. you might need an additional hit buff- then you cant use blind for Control and there are other hitbuffs which are a lor easier to apply 3. you get outthreated 4. as soon Marketh dies- and most opponents can do that easy- you have 2 upkeeps to hold, and you Need 4 Fury for blind- no fury left 5. your feat is only usefull if your opponent wants to stall you- most of the time thats easy to play around without that feat- so the only other use would be an assasination- But your troops will Again be too slow to reach the enemy caster and they are too bad to kill him 5. Immortals are fine- but they dont need your feat and more important both Zaals offer a lot more for them

I had the same thoughts when he released. But since MoA dropped it seems to click. You can take his favorite unit (nihilators), he gets an arc node, he gets access to 2" melee through elasticity, he gets Sac pawn. This is my first list design. I have not yet had the opportunity to test it: conflictchamber.com/#c9201b_-0HhSjijk4Cjf5G6LcR6C5V5S2NSkorne Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Disciples of Agony (Morghoul 3) Dominar Morghoul & Escorts [+25] - Battle Boar [7] - Blind Walker [12] - Cyclops Shaman [8] - Swamp Horror [14] - Titan Gladiator [15] Paingiver Task Master [0(3)] Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers [11] Nihilators (max) [15] Paingiver Beast Handlers (max) [7] Paingiver Bloodrunners [9] Swamp Gobbers Bellows Crew [2]

If the dracodile makes it through CID like it is, it's blinding spray could really open up Morghoul3's personal threat since he would have something besides his escort fans to trigger hidden blade. If he is buying attacks, he is not getting off a nights reflection.
