Tried morghoul yesterday in DoA and it's hilarious how weak he is.. that theme with him is a mess: no marketh alone was a big no for him, then his anti-synergy with minion units and (consequently) major tier benefit. I'm now onto something with MoW as a Convergence and hopefully cryx drop, but I still see him either not breaking enough armor or losing to the volume of attacks ghost fleet has..I'm positive though and think that MoW will turn out very good for him.
Things I like: personal presence (crit decap kills a lot of heavies and casters alike) with acrobatics, unit wide blind (or 2 BE blinded). I see potential.

Yeah, DoA looks good for most of the eligible 'locks, but appeared hot garbage for Morghoul3 right off the bat. Only two things stood out as potentially good, one pending that might make a huge difference. If I recall correctly, the latest CID Dracodile has straight Blind on an Assault spray. If that survives the CID process, and if it is available in DoA, that could make a huge difference. If you want Morghoul3 to kill stuff, you need Blind on the target. Without Marketh, Dracodile makes a difference. Blindwalker is the other thing; being able to apply it without getting close is nice tech. We'll see what comes. If it turns out the way I hope, I'll try it out in DoA, with Croaks and Dracodile. Nihilators if I can fit them. Otherwise, if I ever put him on the table, it'll be in MoW.

Yeah, DoA looks good for most of the eligible 'locks, but appeared hot garbage for Morghoul3 right off the bat. He can run a DoA army without going heavy on the minion units. Full Nihilators, 2x Bloodrunners, and full PGBH come to 40 points, just what you need for two free solos. That leaves you 60 points to still play around with.

The battlegroup is very good in DoA,expecially 10 pts blind walkers supported by Rage. That said though, morghoul is mostly an infantry caster and Swordsmen are far superior to Nihilators in my opinion. Take Down is also a major benefit for his FEAT, but marketh is what really makes the difference. Dracodile will be good for sure but you can get Marketh to blind most things instead and kill them with morghoul. I'm about to try a list that I feel it's quite good, the sheer presence of marketh and take down open up a lot of matchups: CoC and Cryx being the most important targets. If morghoul doesn't prove himself worthy in those matchups I'm afraid he will just go out of the pairing.
To be completely honest, I think his FEAT is pure garbage and ruins most of his potential. That said, his profile and Night's Reflection might be good enough to justify it. I'll let you know by the end of the week
