Band of Heroes received some much-needed buffs, and we're not sure how long it will be until the changes to our models come into effect, so what can we do with it now? If you had a small tourney tomorrow, would you consider Band? If so, how would you build it?

I would keep my current emadrak list and be happy that fenns add to the free points. Including a runebearer with the new free solo slot and I am ready to go.

Of course, with the way the math works out, that could also be a Champ Hero or Kithkar, both Swamp Gobbers and a Feralgeist, Saxon Orrik, or Whelps. It's just that all of the fell calls are so helpful here that I'd feel a bit safer with some redundancy. I'd also like to get Horthol in there. This might even be a full-fledged archetype for us- Either Band with Fennblades or SoTN with Raiders, then Long Riders and Champs. Several of our warlocks could run it to some degree. The idea is to attack in three waves. The 10-man unit goes in first and the Champs bring up the rear. The cav can either be the second or maybe third wave or take a flank as the hammer to the Champ's anvil. Grissel 2's feat and spells are all great here, but Grissel 1's fell calls and Boundless Charge look good too. Jarl could possibly do it. SOTN offers him at least some help with his upkeeps. Quicken could be pretty brilliant. Like Grissel 2, his feat and ranged support are welcome additions to all this melee infantry. And of course, there are the Madraks and Borkas. Kolgrimma might be a possibility, even Ragnor. |

Looking at Ragnor.. he just doesn't do anything for his heroes except for the feat?
Without the rest of the update coming through most of the stuff is still just to poopy.
Love what PP have done with the themes buffs/nerfs but still playing the waiting game for the CID buffs to come through.

im REALLY happy about the change. This is a big deal imo. BoH was always good, but lacked teh free points. With the CiD changes to champions and long riders together with the theme changes, this will be a legit theme  |

I'm over the moon that I'm not being punished for taking my beloved Fennblades now. Again, considering that I pretty much own every model allowed in this list and it was all I played in mk2, this is a buff to me specifically in my local meta hahaha!

Problematic to play also. Taking turns with 50 dudes will take a lot of your time.
I am really happy with the changes. With cid hopefully released next week I see madrak1 incomming with boh.

I Think I would take one unit of kriels and the chef and take min unit of Long riders instead . Seems like a nice flanking package and 45 dudes are enough I think. |

Clock is no real issue. This is just like old cryx lists. you run your shit forward, and the opponent has to deal with it. You can easily get a clock advantage with this type of list.
It might be a good idea to drop the chef and minimize one of the kriel units to add a second FC though...
