POD: Added Mulg, Minion solo (potentially Lanyssa Ryssyl) are both excellent changes. What Minion unit would I add? Swamp Gobbers, 'cause they don't eat up much Warbeast points, and they give our Warlocks a cheaper/bigger cloud than a N-Shaman AND can score a UNIT zone. Dhunian Knot w/ Serenity is a BAD change, not as beneficial, to me, as the non-proximity related THR increase. Because that 1" proximity means during the opponent's turn e-leaps/etc. trivially kill my Knot before Serenity triggers! The Knot are not 18 ARM 5 box models for goodness sake. I think you are looking at the Knot change wrong. It will let all our beasts run on the first turn without worrying about fury. It also makes casting animi less of a burden. Whelps are still going to be better general purpose fury management.

I am now very much at a point where I have gotten my hopes up. I didn't want to and I realise this is silly of me. I find it hard to read Hungerford's words about there being "lots of changes to existing themes" And not have some expectation that we will be the biggest benefactor of this. Crushing disappointment is probably on it's way. Even against my own warning I dare to Dream. And when my unreasonable expectations aren't met I will be a Mopey Troll. How do you feel about the changes Arc? I think they are all positive! Mulg in Pod seems super strong!

Erm Obviously it met my minumum expectations, which is nice Band of Heroes is a legitimately good theme and that is only going to get better with the changes to Champs. Power of Dhunia is a strange one. The ability to add a cheap scoring unit, most likely Goblin Bellows or the Bone Grinders or The ability to add a proper unit. Maybe Farrow Brigands is really cool. The negative, as many people have already said is that the change to the theme benefit is basically a straight nerf. Dhunian Knot only see plays in the gun line PoD lists and even then you rarely want it so far forward that it's within 1 inch of a Bomber. +2 threshold was solid and dependable. It didn't set the world on fire but it was useful. This change will hurt a bit but obviously not kill the theme or anything, but it's just a weird change. It feels like the kind of change made by someone who doesn't understand how Trolls function at all. It's a worrying sign for our faction moving forward. But yeah, overall excited to play lists!

I just have to say that even if i was right (no new themes), i am SUPER excited about the changes. BoH is SIGNIFICANTLY better now, and will be even better when the CID goes through. PoD got stronger over all with access to minions (though the threshold change is a sidegrade at the very best) and Mulg. Northkin have me all jittery and they are around the corner too. KC is now the obvious read headed step child, but it has the awesome WW in it at least, so that is something. Over all i feel like the swathe of changes we have gotten/will get makes a big difference for the faction.
#allinontrolls2018too!
