Quick question for the room here. What do we think is the best warjack for Raluk Moorclaw to marshal in a TB army?
My hombre wanted to get Raluk and a 'jack in his TB army... my gut says the right answer is probably Rover, but I'm not sure.

I like the rover or the mule. Vanguard works ok too.

Definitely Rover, preferably in Kolgrima's army where you also have a source of free charges to combine with Crush! That nets you an assault shot, charge attack, shield attack, point blank attack, and a Crush! swing which is reasonably close to what you'd get out of a jack with a couple focus.

The Rover has a lot of utility. A good rule of thumb is probably that if you can give a marshalled jack extra "focus" (like the free charge from Kolgrimma or Lanyssa) it could be worth considering. I think the Talon is a sweet little guy to consider as well. If up against jacks, he is an incredible road block and he is very cheap. A Mangler charges for free too, so he could get "crush" but the fact is that you are spending a lot of points on a package that still does not punch hard.
Competitively speaking the correct answer is probably "dont play Raluk", but i too really like the model and would dearly love for him to be good.

"Competitive" isn't really the point, here, of course. It's my friend saying "I think I'd like to paint a warjack to take a break from painting all this skin and leather and tartans", and me replying, "You know, there's a minion model that lets you play a warjack in trolls". And he's all, "Oh, that sounds pretty neat, maybe after we...", but before he can even finish I've got bits dumped out all over the desk and I'm trying to figure out how to sculpt a kilt on to a nomad. Three hours later, you know how it is, I've got six different warjacks in various states of disassembly, all with kilts, some with troll heads, one with a mohawk, one drinking from a keg with a straw, maybe another over here with the top cut back into a cockpit, being driven by a Pyg Ace. How do I decide which to send him home with? And that's where we're at right now. Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I think I'm going to go with the Rover, as it seems like the most user-friendly in addition to being one of the stronger choices.

Some of the best tech probably sounded non-competetive when it was first put out there. You cand find that new awesome list if you only stick to previous lists! good luck.

I always liked the cuteness of him with a mariner. Run Raluk forward to where the mariner will fail its charge so it threatens 23." Rover, Mule, or Vanguard are probably substantially better though.

Sounds incredibly awful. Only MERCENARY models will be able to reload the mariner. Sure, the running Raluk in place works, but any jack marshal will have a big target on their heads. having them be far up the table to enable the jack to shoot sounds like a recipe for disaster

Gunny w/ Raluk/Mule and Dhunian Knot. Fishin' for Crit Devastation, with TWO poles!
I think the Mariner w/ Lash gives you no KD for anything B2B, so...MK2 Tough for whom?!

Aside from the second fishing pole, Snipe (for him and the Mule) and a wall for him and the Mule to hide behind!
Oh crap, Snipe is FF now, well that's a load of BS...Raluk should be Partisan, and so should any 'jack he brings, 'cause the warjack options are so unspectacular.

Raluk's Mule can't boost the roll to hit though which results in paltry crit chances even with puppet master (only 30%).
If you want lash, the freebooter is already one of the best marshaled jacks. Lash is actually quite useful on the freebooter itself; other marshaled jacks can easily be crippled by knocking them down. It does respectable damage vs knocked down targets, brings its own threat extender, has the ever-useful grab and smash, and can keep doing all of this even if the marshal dies. The only Warlock I can think of that wants steady badly enough to consider paying 13 points for lash is Helga but even for her it's a janky choice. Mercs can definitely have the advantage on this one

Raluk (pretty much all Jack Marshals) needs to have Empower. Why does Ret get all the fun with it's mechanics?!
