Two Ret casters in the bottom five, with Helynna worst by a proverbial mile. Three Legion casters in the bottom ten. Does that say something about the data/event, or about these casters/factions?
I would argue in the case of Helyna that it may show an issue with her. As for legion, its the same old same old, oracles wins and anything that isn't oracles is mediocre.
Ret is a pretty strong faction so I do not think the faction as a whole has issues.
What concerns me more is just how much Cryx is stomping the meta. It is a crazy gap.
The casters in question aren't the worst in the game, or they wouldn't show up at the WTC in the first place. That said: 3 Legion in the bottom 15, 3 Retribution in the bottom 15, 3 Protectorate in the bottom 16, and casters like Sevvy2 and Kaelyssa in the bottom of the rankings? To me that says there are factors at play beyond just games played. Quality of some of the players who chose these factions maybe, team tactics almost certainly.
Me too. I'm torn between being very hopeful that we'll see a substantial number of the buffs we need, and concerned that we'll get the Legion treatment, and have a substantial number of our needy living beasts left out in the cold.
Grymkin destroyed Cygnar and Ret... Guess Crabitts and Sacrifice work?
Cygnar performed pretty averangely in general (actually, slightly on the bad side). They got also destroyed by Cryx that once were their natural preys.
Anyway, I'm happy about it. Maybe now people will stop complaining or being preventively against any buff to bad Cygnar models just because "Cygnar is already great so you can't buff anything, even the worst things".
Hey PP are you guys even getting this? I mean they have got to know Cryx is a major problem atm and I hope they are working on a solution. The Sev2 thing surprised me most but it is mostly because of CM theme and no scenario presence.
First, it is a TEAM event and that creates some weird dynamics. One of those is that skews tend to be even more skewy because through skilled team captaintry you can avoid the worst match ups (or take one for the team).
Second, if I were PP I would be concerned with Coven and Denny1 dominating so much.
Three - if you play khador I think you can clearly see the lack of magical weapons being a problem, with awful stats into Cryx and fairly mediocre into Grymkin. If incorporeal is going to be a thing it would be nice for all of us to have ready access to answers.
Just wanted to quickly chime in about Helynna, as she is one of my favorite Casterd: I played her 3 times this weekend. Once Makeda1 was left on 4 boxes, once Amon toughed and once I lost Vs Nemo3 because of a Lancer Cortexdamaging Hyperion. All 3 games were very much winnable and interesting (shoutout to my very kind and enjoyable opponents). I can't speak for the other losses, but please don't start a flamewar about this, she is fine
As for Cryx, while this was a team event which is imo in favour of this faction, the record is still way, way too strong. I hope we can find some reasonable changes to restore the balance, starting with the themes that will drop soon.
Alternatively, the tech to cryx was "we don't need to beat cryx if we beat everyone else" Send the person with no good matchup to fight cryx, essentially. This is entirely speculation and has a similar takeaway: if the tech vs cryx in a team event is to lose to cryx and beat everyone else, then there's a problem.
