Alternatively, the tech to cryx was "we don't need to beat cryx if we beat everyone else" Send the person with no good matchup to fight cryx, essentially. This is entirely speculation and has a similar takeaway: if the tech vs cryx in a team event is to lose to cryx and beat everyone else, then there's a problem. I strongly doubt teams could purposefully chose to auto lose and or "throw" the cryx match up. Logically they should have expected a large number of cryx and had specific players with lists to handle them. The issue is the combo of ghost fleet and dark host. Both themes are problematic. Ghost fleet is mostly a Denny 1 issue. She probably could use a Feat nerf like Haley 2. And it's increasingly obvious dark host is too powerful regardless of caster.

Just as I suspected Grymkin did second best overall because they did the best into Cryx.

I've done this the past 2 years cause I enjoy it, I think everything ran right and quickly today, so let me know if its wrong somewhere. Did you make the spreadsheet or just export it from somewhere?

I got the data from the website with results (so any mistypes or whatever might mess it up) scraped the data and that made the spreadsheets (I have it go into a form I want ATM trying to get themes as well but since they're not on the results it's more complicated and I didn't have that before, plus work has me doing more work nowadays)
As for the data, professor lust, I could email it to you? Or I could try to Google doc but earliest I could do is tomorrow night , and I might be busy then too.

Those Cryx stats are problematic. Hopefully PP is taking note, because a faction having a 67% winrate, and NO faction matchups under 50% winrate is an issue. Especially because it was a strongly represented faction (which usually means a lower winrate, due to a higher volume of less-experienced players) AND it was the bogeyman faction going into WTC list building.

If at a tournament which composes the best players in the world the only answer to the unstoppable juggernaut that is Cryx is to throw a player under their tour bus with the hope that maybe they'll break a wheel, then what hope is there for us regular folk who end up staring down the Cryxian barrel during a steamroller at the FLGS?

Luckily most Cryx players aren't as good either.

Regular folk have far less to worry about, as most Cryx players will not have the models to run ghost fleet.
Ghost fleet requires 2-3 units of revenants, something no Cryx player owned pre-MKIII, and only viable in ghost fleet. Unless you're a dedicated tournament player, that's an expensive outlay that is just not gonna happen (we saw the same thing in MKII with Bradigus - he turned the high-level tournament scene on its head, but had a relatively minor impact on regular folk).
The impact of ghost fleet on the tournament scene is concerning, no question about it. I suppose we can all just be grateful it's a lot more fun to face than anything in blue.

casters like Sevvy2 ...in the bottom of the rankings? To me that says there are factors at play beyond just games played. Quality of some of the players who chose these factions maybe, team tactics almost certainly. It's no surprise at all for me, check this discussion: lormahordes.freeforums.net/post/54592/threadThose Sevvy2 lists were most likely outdated Creator's Might gunlines, with no chance of survival in SR2017 scenario play vs all those speed daemons out there and possibly a one and only chance at winning with a desperate assassination, which is not a reliable winning condition. I never played Sevvy2 in mk3 due to his popularity, but I ran a Sevvy1 Creator's Might gunline and it worked astonishingly wellm winning me almost all games...until final SR2017 packet dropped and it started losing game after game on scenario. Since then I started trying to emulate the concept of a powerful gunline in Exemplar Interdiction, losing some of the jacks for fast/expendable elements that will allow it not to automatically lose on scenario in turn3. I guess Sevvy2 can go this way as well soon.

There's at least one error, Poland Hussar has Axis1 listed as the caster for one of their circle players during round 4. No idea what he really played. Edit: Also Norway Hugin Xerxis2 won over Axis in round 6 so Axis should have 2 less wins.

I can't find the post about the Drama between Norway and the France at the last round of WTC but it seems Courageofcaspia retracted his post...

Thanks for the stats. Seems that the more themes gets released, the more the situation seems to even, leaving Cryx aside. Hopefully so. Grymkin I am happy to give a little credit for being new but I definitely think they may have aspects that need balancing later - the CID was a bit of a fanboi fest and I don't think it reeled them back enough. Cryx is just a massive issue and have been for awhile. Even their jack theme is probably going to be reasonably insane with carapace. People will have teched for a cryx drop and they all still just got brutalised regardless. I don't think the game has a year for PPto glacially fix Cryx, they need to sort this out sooner.
