Hey guys, I have the ability to purchase a unit of Blighted Nyss Legionnaires + UA. I was wondering what the general consensus was on these guys?

You have to build your list around them.

Which casters work best with them?

Legionnaires have rules that synergise poorly with each other and face stiff competition from other unit choices that can fulfil the same role as them, often for less points. I have not put Legionnaires on the table since Mk III dropped and I do not see any competitive reason to do so other than to challenge myself with a deliberate handicap.

With that said, I will pass on buying them lol Thanks. That's all I really needed to know

If you do decide to pick them up, they would probably sit around until they get a cid pass, which probably won't be till like 2019.

Fyanna 2 makes them soar especially if you include the BB

Fyanna 2 makes them soar especially if you include the BB Fyanna2 makes the nyss scather crew soar. Doesn't mean it's good . What legionnaires need are any of the following Decrease in pts Increase p&s to 12 Maybe give them brutal charge. Right now for 15 pts for the full unit they simply don't compete with swordsmen, hex hunters, and other options of equal value.

Def 15 Arm 24 with dodge and immunity to knockdown/stationary is a little better than a catapult.
But you're asking for more offense to a defense unit. Like the Bane Knights in CiD I believe they need to drop offensive pretense (vengeance) and get better at being a defensive unit. Good at holing a zone, jamming, and guarding something more important.
I'd like to see a rule that prevents them from being trampled over if they are in B2B. Tactics: Tough would also be nice to synergize with the mini-feat. Lastly, yes they are too expensive to bring so little offense. Even 1 point off would be welcome. Farilor needs to bring a granted or tactics of some flavor for his price.

I don't think mini feat and actual feat with them at the same time is the most ideal way to play it.

I agree it's usually better to make them hard to kill over 2 turns rather than very hard to kill on one turn.
I quite like them. If they were power 12 I think they would be good. Power 10 vengence attacks are lame. I think they should loose their base to base power and gain if hurt they get +2 arm +2 strong. That would make them very vengeful.

Trading Wall of Steel, or CMA, for Battle Driven would sync nicely with vengeance.

Lose Vengeance, Stay pow10 CMA, then gain some rule like Tough and have Farilor grant Hard or something.

If they're supposed to be defensive than give them back Set Defense and maybe add Blade Shield on Farilor. Tough is too UNreliable IMO.
