New army box:
PIP 71119 MSRP: $189.99
From a Land of Ice and Snow…
Out of the blizzards of the frozen north march the Northkin, a mighty alliance of resolute trollkin warriors. The Northkin rush to battle with axes in hand, the blood of trolls in their veins, and frost-rimed winter trolls at their side, and any who face them must confront the fury of the winter storm. Northkin shamans command the bone-chilling power of their homelands, and their warbeasts freeze the enemy in place before shattering them with their weapons.
Take command of these barbaric warriors with this box, which puts a full warband of Northkin in your hands ready to support your warlock’s battlegroup. Crush the enemy and drink deep in victory!
Combine this box with the Trollbloods battlegroup box to build a complete 35-point army.
Contents:
• 8-page Northkin primer
• Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes unit (4)
• Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears unit (3)
• Northkin Fire Eaters unit (3)
• Northkin Elder Command Attachment
• Trollkin Whelps
• Trollkin Runebearer solo
• Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North solo
Without caster, without beast, expensive, few new miniatures...

You are supposed to add this to a battle box. I think it is a fine way to start off a collection. It just has no value at all for us who own trolls and want to expand to northkin

Yeah, that's just plain terrible.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by that. I'm also not particularly enthusiastic about metal raiders with an $85 price tag. My hype for the new northkin stuff has taken a pretty big hit, tbh.

Not tempting is good for me. The minimum unit of Krielstone Bearers is very puzzling, and not new player friendly, as they find out there is no PP official way to purchase two additional grunts other then piecemeal thru the PP store...
Imagine if it was: Battle Bears Raiders Valka Kolgrimma Ice Troll Northkin Elder
Every Veteran interested, as well as newer player interested would buy that to get a Northkin start.

I'm guessing that's because they are resin/metal hybrids. On the plus side, they will be TONS easier to put together than a PP plastic infantry box, and that's worth the increased price to me right there. Additionally, the resin and metal models hold lots more detail than the soft plastic that many infantry units are made of. So yeah it's expensive. But back in Mark 2, I paid about eighty bucks retail for a Boomhowler's unit, and those guys look like a pile of excrement. I don't think it's too unfair a price. Trolls have always been more expensive, because of their huge model size

It literally only has 5 new models in it. It's barely even exciting to my friend who thought of buying into trolls for just the theme.

Who doesn't have a Runebearer / Stone / Whelps / Fire Eaters already?
Frankly, I'm surprised this doesn't come with an Impaler ...

Make it happen PP. What's that? You need to sell your warehouse full of old models no one is buying? Ok then, go ahead.

I'm kind of OK with it.
They obviously want it as a gateway into the faction rather than a discount that gets snapped up by existing players.

You pay about $200 to get an incomplete army, (no caster no beasts) You miss out on THE iconic northkin model (Tripple H) The models that do come with it don't really mesh without additional purchases, the min stone is a whole issue on its own. Its a pretty horrible place for new players to start IMO. You would have to buy a Battlebox minimum to run this hodgepodge of miniatures and then go about finding additional stone members. Also went ahead and priced it all out: Model cost (I don't remember what a min stone costed so I priced it at 30) Total for BB 150. so you are actually spending more money for less models.....
