Hi Guys, I started playing recently and I have painted up about 50pts of Cygnar. Unfortunately I'm not enjoying their play style. I am looking for a faction with more punch.
I am here to ask for help with lists and starting models for Trolls.
Also how are trolls at assassination?
Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Kriel!
If you like punch, I think you'll fully enjoy Trollbloods. We commonly play an attrition style that's based on taking the opponent's punch and hitting back harder ourselves.
To get started, I would suggest doomie 2 or doomie 3 with a beast heavy list. Krielstone max unit with UA and Runebearer are in nearly ever list, so they are worthwhile early purchases as well.
Mark (gdnerd on the forums here) has a great doomshaper 2 list that includes staples like the Mauler (two of them actually) with a pair of Earthborns as well. Buying the kits for the Mauler and magnetizing them so they can be any of the three options is a great choice in case you want to try a list with Grissel 2, who is one of the best assassination warlocks in the game. She likes to bring along at least one Bomber with her.
I highly suggest reading through Trollock's thread that is stickied in the forums. It's a very good overview of current models and units (although themes are changing the value that each item brings so it does very more than it used to).
Again, welcome!

Thanks for the tips! I didn't realise that you could magnetise the Trolls, that's cool.

Thanks for the tips! I didn't realise that you could magnetise the Trolls, that's cool. Realistically just the Dire Troll kit so you can swap between bomber and Mauler. You might be able to do it with impaler/axer/bouncer but you only ever need 1 of each and that's what you get from the starter box.

The guide i wrote on how to start collecting trollbloods is getting a bit dated. With the arrival of theme forces and now with a total of 4 themes (and PP officially saying they basically only want you to play themes, and thats why they made them broken) a lot of what i wrote before theme forces existed makes limited sense... The faction is developing a LOT right now, so it is hard to say what will work in a few months.
I would pick a theme force (but not Band of Heroes) and stick with that for a while. That is the best advice i can give right now i think.

What is the 4th theme for Trolls? I can find Band of Heroes , Power of Dhunia , Storm of the North (CID) but no 4th Theme. is there a secret 4th that I can't find or did Trollock make a typo? Im thinking that I will sit on the models that I have until the new releases come out. Ambushing bears!

The other theme is called Kriel Company. It is a range based theme but the true reason it shines at all is it is the only theme that currently allows our amazing War Wagon battle engine!

Kriel Company is also allredy officially released, so you should find it in war room.

I think War Room is more important than the minis when you start the game. Bite the bullet and buy the "all factions" bundle if you want to become good at the game. If you want to play a game every now and then and have fun (and do not care if you win or lose) then you can make do with buying only your own faction, but if you want to become good at the game, you will need to do some studying of what is out there. When you get your arse kicked by something, you want to go home and read up on how it works in detail so you can figure out how to counter it. Having access to all factions is well worth the money imo.

I suggest getting the Trollbloods and Minions faction deck on war room. If you want to look at other cards, juat use the free database. Using War Room is more conveniant, but also very expensive.

I consider being able to look at my opponents cards before/during a game without bothering to be more than worth the investment. Also, if you change factions again, you will already have all the cards.
