Really happy with the direction that this week's changes have brought.
Haven't seen anyone mention him though (and haven't had a chance to test him myself):
Borka2, are we happy with where he's at right now? Who's had a chance to actually give him a try? On paper, he still doesn't seem like he has "enough" to make it into the regular roster of playable casters.

I really feel like he is playable now. With battlecharged upkept for free in theme and a free animus cast every turn he can do some fury things while still camping several to remain front line. The runebearer is even better with him now giving his beasts a bit more flexibility.
I have only played one game with him but he felt right.

Basher at 7 points sounds great too. I think Grissel 1 is VERY interested in those guys. With a free charge, they can make 5 attacks at POW 18 BEFORE calamity with her (assuming normal elder). PoD for light beast spam works well with her, and this is a super nice addition. That is Juggernaught levels of damage from a 7 point beast. Sure, you have spent a lot on support, but you only commit the Basher to be killed. I’m thinking both Grissels are getting a bit randy for all the new North Kin stuff. Grissel2 adding the North Kin Elders Dash-light to her dash for +2 total extra movement sounds great. Both seem like they could run a deadly battle group comprised of Mauler & 2 Brawlers since you could forgo the Axer. Grissel 1 with a couple disposable Brawlers that could be a huge pain with Hoof It.

Upon closer reading I will concede that having only enemies within her control range be affected by her feat is a limiting factor. I do have to bring up that she is Fury7 and just got access to a 2" CTRL extension. If you can get something to guard her, like maybe Warders, her feat can be pretty powerful, especially in more gun-heavy metas.

PPS_MrSoles re: Champs in Storm of the North: "We will be posting an update tomorrow that includes "Champion models/units" rather than the limit of one Champion unit."

Sadly, I think it will be a little hard to justify taking 2 champ units when only one of them will receive most of the benefits of the theme. I mean, if you really want them then go ahead, but you won't be getting free buffs on them, the northkin elder that you'll almost assuredly take will not help them, etc. Granted, it's still better to have the option than to have a silly limit like exactly 1 unit when they have a larger FA, so at least there's that.

A unit of champions with all the bells and whistles (the shamans for extra boxes, skaldi, etc) and a unit of bears is 40 points. Thoughts for under Borka1?

Assuming you're also bringing the 10pt min stone+northkin elder, just the bloated champ unit will bring you to 40 points. Adding two units of bears is a great way to hit 60 though
Other cute things the sorcs can do: with combat caster they should razor wind most every turn before running/charging into position for defensive line/sanguine bond. As the champs can proc defensive line off of sorcerers, this lets them spread out a bit more. If the sorcerers start a turn in melee, combat caster isn't a bad way to clear jamming models before the unit charges. If the opponent manages to scalpel out all the champs, the sorcs become a weird bushwhacking unit. Remember that they do get relentless charge & overtake from Skaldi (also access to northkin buffs like stumbledrunk/steady and new elder). I seriously doubt it's worth 9 points, but there are enough weird rules there to catch opponents off guard on occasion.
I'd also point out the interesting synergies Sanguine bond has with Madrak2's grim salvation, and Madrak3's feat.

Update: Storm in the North: Kriel Warriors added to theme. Non-warlock warrior models gain northkin and immunity cold (clarification: earthborn does not get speed from drifts) Kolgrima looses arcane vortex (soon to return on a different model). Gains banishing ward upkeep HHH: beer wagon can now be used at any time during its activation (you don't have to give everything stumbledrunk if you don't want to) Valka: gains take down Eilish: Chasten>Repudiate (boo....), loses death rattle, down to magic ability 6
Madrak1: New Feat: remove d3+3 damage from FF models in control; for one round they cannot be charged or slam pwrattacked. Gains tactician (faction warrior)
Spells: Even ground: FF models in caster's control range get +2 def and can't be knocked down, cost 2 1round Guided hand Jackhammer
He's now got some serious synergy with glacier kings, wrong eye, champs, earthborns and whatnot

Madrak1 is amazing. Like really good. If he stays anything like he is now, he'll catapult to the top ranks of troll casters.

Even ground is amazing. The feat is bizarre but might have some great synergy with the new champs.

People are already crying OP on even ground haha! It would be reasonable to limit it to warrior models. I don't know that it's broken, but that's a change I wouldn't complain about.

No worries y'all. Even ground won't be OP when the tech to knock it off for any list in the game is in the same CID.

Now to see if Trolls actually get to keep any of this... CID is way too much of a rollercoaster of emotions.
