Whomever pointed out that he's probably a company of iron model and probably won't be available for warmachine probaly hit the nail on the head. I think he's gonna be our character leader model in that game. Hungerford already said that all models in Company of Iron will be available in Warmachine & Hordes.

"A decorated war hero of the Exemplar errants, Warder Elias Gade leads his team of pious knights on crucial missions into enemy territory. Operating far from the Protectorate of Menoth, Gade relies on a lifetime of battlefield experience and his unshakable faith to secure victory. The whistling of his blessed crossbow bolts have presaged the deaths of countless unbelievers, and by his hand many more will fall.
Elias Gade is a strong combat solo that helps provide support to Exemplar Errants and Exemplar Errant Seneschals. Any warcaster with strong buffs such as Feora, The Conquering Flame or Grand Scrutator Severius will make great use of this new solo"
This does not bring me good hope if they are saying that he is good with Eye of Menoth or Incite those abilities are turd polishers.

Gentlemen, I am usually EXTREMELY skeptical, but so far I think you are overreacting. From what I remember, "recommendations" that PP add to their releases are BS 9,999 times of 10 and hardly even come near to how people really play that model eventually, or whats really good for it. And Icite and EoM are 100% good for anything, so it can be just stating something for the sake of something, to fill the text space.
What I really find promising, is that it mentioned that it buffs at least both errants and KE. That gives me hope for global Exemplar buff (solos included!). Though it's quite probably just "small based exemplar units" restriction. Scratch that, I misread. Errants only. Still have hopes for him.

To be fair it may just be a throwaway blurb from PP - but a very odd one to run with
The only way this solo will be useful is if it actually brings a new keyword/buff to errants. But I'm not sure if that's been mentioned in the slightest. Another errant with two crossbow shots is just of very little use unless he makes them as usable as Idrians at least in the exemplar theme.
So the benefits potentially ring that Gade may be a free solo but otherwise Idrians will just be better if he doesn't buff entrants or maybe if Idrians never make it into themes.
I mean it's a bit of a personal annoyance that our best infantry has essentially been excluded from all our themes.

Also for the fact that this will make for a very expensive Errant boat. PP will need to drop the point cost if they want this unit to be taken over Idrians.

He's gonna be a blank combat solo that may give a Leadership: errants buff. To be honest he is gonna have to be special to replace my Knights Exemplar Senny's those guys kick butt.
As far as needing something to fix errants...I would say fix the UA. They could probably use pathfinder. Right now without the UA I find them on par with Idrians without the UA so I don't think the issue is the base unit

I have heard that the Exemplar fellow has the Both Barrels ability. Will Shick mentioned that on his twitter so that is accurate.

Sniper/Snap Fire would be more useful. I'm looking forward to what kind of buff(s) he brings to Errants. What does the community think they are lacking for Mk3 anyway? Compared to Idrians I'm gonna guess it's survivability due to crappy base DEF/ARM or lack of fire power. It still bothers me that our "heavy" Lawrbringer crossbows have the worst attributes of all the frontline ranged weapon sitting at RNG10 POW10. They're always either outgunned or outranged.

You're asking the wrong person. I am not a fan of mk3 Protectorate which I have discussed before and I don't wish to derail this thread into that topic.

I would actually argue that 12/16 with access to our defenders ward casters is a really solid Statline. They have similar charge danage, but the Idrians have better ranged damage and pathfinder. If the errants gained pathfinder and maybey increased Pow on the swords they would compete a lot better.
As it stands I take the unit without the UA and they work as an ok screen.

Banking on D-Ward locks you into Kreoss1, Severius1, and Vindictus. Aside from Vindictus, they're all decent, if not meta picks.
I've said it before, but I'd prefer if Idrians lost brutal damage and Errants picked up dual attack or point blank.

I would really like to figure out a list I love with Kreoss 1. I love his kit and pop and drop is always fun. I just am never fully happy with lists I make for him.
