I was going to grab the all-in-one, and still might. I'm trying hard to not buy more models than I can paint/play with. Grymkin has some really cool stuff. I like their ability to run tons of infantry that can actually compete in a jack heavy meta. I am the opposite, I would want to run nothing but beasties in Dark Menagerie, so the all in one has no interest for me

I think Grymkin are very strong and perhaps a little too strong in one or 2 Areas. Shroud isn't a 3rd of a feat, it is a full feat and the Child's Skin and Moans damage output is among the highest damage for its threat. Very casually the Child can make a single Skin and Moans do close to 80+ damage with a very long threat range which might be a little much.
Interested in playing them, though. I think they are an awesome faction with awesome models and casters.

More just sat in the forums reading about it. I wish every faction could have that. Though Trenchers seemed to do well too. So pretty hopeful for future ones. I may buy murder crows just because I think they look great and I'd use them for other tabletop games.

I want half the units in Ret, need to buy the game box, now grymkin...

I'll probably get the all-in-one and share it with my son. We're both marginally interested in playing Grymkin, so we should try it out.

I like the aesthetics of about 2/3rds of the models; I'll probably buy some just to paint, but barring a really good deal I doubt I'll buy enough to actually play them.

I have a ton of interest in the faction but have fallen slightly out of the game. So while I'd like them as faction...8? Maybe. I don't know is I can justify buying anymore models.
Especially since 40k just pulled me back in strong.

Looks like there are some common threads here that I agree with. The loose (lack of cohesive) visual theme, previous prior investment (for me it's Khador and Rhulfolk), and the fact that some Grymkin are interesting but some are off-putting.
I noticed some effort on PP's part (Matt Wilson's and Aeryn Rudel's) to connect them to the Strangelight Workshop in books, etc. I wonder if lagging interest is driving their efforts to emphasize a link with existing, and very cool, IK canon.

I'm not interested in picking up the faction, Circle will be my Hordes faction when I get there... but there are a handful of models I'd consider buying just to paint and look at, which is quite rare for me.

Can I just admit that I hate them for the fact that they have so much in-faction synergy? I literally see them as an insult to my hordes factions. They're too "good". I know they aren't to be super over the curve, but the fact that they can work together so well annoys me. PP has shown they have the creative talent and the intellectual capability to make a compelling and synergistic faction. Why then can they not make the existing hordes factions work on that kind of level? I understand it's because it's a tiny faction compared to the model count of Legion or Cirlce. But still; they've had years and years to refine the existing factions. It feels like another example of missed opportunity and lopsided focus. [/rant] Also I absolutely despise the hollowmen and everything they are. I want an eyeless sight ranged infantry unit so bad, and the grymkin were the first to get it? All of my hate! [/rant 2] So, as a Convergence player, let me tell say that you pay a price for that internal synergy. You don't get any new models. EVAR (see note). It's easier to balance a faction when you don't have to plan for potential future interactions. CoC is still a solid faction because of it's synergies. I'm not disagreeing with you mind. I'd certainly rather see more focus put on tuning up existing models than this whole 'new faction a year' thing. I'm also expressing some hard-earned experience. If you buy into a limited faction, don't expect any new models. That said, if I can shake loose the $$ I might get the Grymkin all-in-one. Note: Yes, yes CoC got the Prime Conflux (after a couple of years), but it has little to no synergy with the rest of the faction. Then a couple of years later, we got a theme force, and some 'bits' going into CID in August (maybe). But expect nothing and you'll be pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed.

I like some of the aesthetic (Skin and Moans, Hollow Men, Dread Rots) but I hate most of the other models, especially the piggy backs, neigh slayers, and cage rager. I also don't really need another faction at the moment - keeping up with the ones I already have is enough of an investment.

I completely understand. Fewer models need more innate power as the option selection is just not there. You also need them to work together extremely well because there's not much else you can pair together. I do play minions and it's not nearly as small as CoC but I get the point. They absolutely need that level of interaction and power building. I just still wish everything was as well crafted.

Aside from possibly getting Old Witch 2 (depending on the rules and if I have the money) the army overall doesn't call to me. A couple of the solos look interesting, but the most I would ever do might be for Company of Iron. I didn't participate in the CID, so I have almost no clue what anything in the army does, so I'd have to see the cards first.
