I need to start thinking about which models I will take to Lock & Load. I suspect that transporting both MonPoc and Warmachine, like I did in 2019, is folly.
Also, I am not viscerally feeling any of Khador’s theme forces at the moment. I don’t have a burning desire to finish off Wolves of Winter, or WGK, or even start tackling the unpainted MoW for Armored Corps... Legion of Steel is a joke of a theme, and Jaws is, well, Jaws, I guess.
The only theme that even slightly tingles the cold, frigid cockles of my heart is Warriors of the Old Faith, but then I start thinking about assembling and transporting all those miserable cavalry models (and transport all those huge bases) and my brain shuts down.
So...uh... I guess I need help deciding what to take. I need to decide in January so I can guarantee it is all painted before June, because I will never again burn myself out my grinding out models the month prior to the event, and then go and have a miserable time on my vacation. NEVER AGAIN.
I am open to suggestions. Honestly, WGK is probably our most flexible and well-rounded theme right now, but transporting double Gun Carriages is a bit of a pain, and that thought is all that is stopping me...

You should just take your favourite models: Butcher2 Berserker spam right?. It’ll be even more fun after I gouge out my eyes with a rusty spoon! ...which is basically what I would choose to do before playing those models.

I think Armord Corps is our most "well-balanced theme", hell, it's practically the poster child of balanced themes.
I've been playing Khador for years, and have been on a CG stint since about a year or so, I;m okay with it. Especially considering the game is all but dead in my city -I am the only one still playing, and that requires travelling-. Limited release factions are... Pleasant in that regard.

Man, painting faces is HARD. I swear I used to be able to hold minis closer to my face when painting; I can't seem to focus when I hold them close anymore. Maybe I'm just out of practice? That must be it; it's definitely not because I'm an old man who's hair is thinning and bones are creaking... sigh.
Well, the good news is I might actually have a new painted Khador model to show off some time this year... unlike last year.

Was gonna say "tiny miniatures" but it seemed redundant.

[/div][/quote] My hesitation for Armored Corps in this particular case is essentially the following: - The Tankers, and to a lesser extent the Chariots, carry the theme. The theme force doesn’t function very well without them, in my opinion. - The Demo Corps and Dragos still make me sad. (Why, tell me why, would anyone ever take more than one unit of Demo a Corps, or take them without the CA?) - MoW are bulky, and I think transporting that army in carry-on form would be a nightmare. That said... I dunno. Maybe it’s just because I went out for pizza by myself at 8:30 at night*, but maybe that’s not all terrible. ...maybe. * LIKE SOME SORT OF MANIAC, or TEENAGER!

True on most accounts, but the problem with Demo Corps is that on their own they are just too damn squishy. Same thing I have with CG's Assault Troopers: On paper nice, in practice too slow and not enough going on once they get there. Shocks with UA are pretty damn solid, fun thing about the theme is, imho, that it can work with most of our casters; whether you speed them up, freeze things for them or put a cloud wall in front of them; they play ball with all but a few of our casters. They do that without being broken or unfair. That's what I meant with it being balanced

It’s weird, but that is where they suddenly become very attractive to me. (I mean sure, it’s no 83 points for a full MK I unit a.k.a. cheaper than Winter Guard, but still...)

Assault Corps are 13 and it doesn't save them from "not bad not terrible", same with emo Corps, even for 13 points; It's a bunch of slow, relatively fragile beatsticks, Dragos makes them more threatening via Vengeance.
If you want to include "naked" Demo Corps I think Min units as a "counterpunch" might be the way to go. Still, shocks are better if you don't take anything, and even with them I'd rather take them with UA, if only because the extra guys makes using shield wall triangles easier.
