i made some more reps with Kolgrima both in POD and Sotn and i am really impressed of Kolgrima in Sotn. Basher + Primal is a really nice combo and adding a hunters mark u threat 11" + Pathfinder + Mat 8 + Power 16 + 4 attacks + crit stagger. This will not kill a light but attacking a BE or a colossal and hitting the crit will often ruin their next activation. Stormtroll helps vs Cygnar and Winter Troll is a cheap light but could be switched for a second basher or Pyre Troll. Units: Ambushing Bears and Kolgrima are just nuts. I often ambush 1 or sometimes even both units so my opponents are forced to brick and this is really nice for Kolgrima. If you have not tested it give it a shot. Champions + clouds are also a really nice. -2 to hit while in the clouds + Def14 champs + bond are really hard to crack. And as soon as they reach their target power 14 wm +2 attacks kill almost everything. FireEaters are still amazing. I think one unit should always be played in Sotn cause they threat 16". Solos: Valka for 0 is really nice to score flags. He is hard to kill and countercharge often suprises your opponent if they try to contest.

Kolgrima + mauler +mulg +Bomber +axer +ice +winter +bearer Knot Max stone Janissa Whelps
3 heavies feel 1 heavy short.

if you pair Kolgrima POD and Madrak BoH which matchups do you feel are not covered. i think Skorne Rashesh could be a problem for your pairing.

Since the Possibility to add minions you could add some scenario presence by adding a feral geist or gremlin swarm or even a unit.

Going back to gk + mist speaker discussion. I would agree with trolllock. U need to keep the gk safe cause loosing him would totally destroy your fury management.
If playing adr I would build your adr to switch the gk for some other beasts if you wanna play more melee fokused. Like rok + bashers.

let's assume we are going to play the Madrak1 BOH version with Kriel Warriors. I think almost every list is going to out threat you in melee. But like said in the podcast this list is build to get alphaed. So which lists does this madrak1 list do not wanna play against.

In my opinion it's not only the free solo you loose but also u free up 4 points. Let's assume a typical sotn list.
+gk +winter troll
Full stone + ua Champs + skaldi 2 bears 1 fire eaters
Free runebearer, fell caller, valka
The trade would be mist speaker +3 points vs fire eaters + valka.
Adr is also really tricky cause u got exactly 60 points for 3 solos. It is really hard to switch units to keep exactly 60 points. So every switch will loose 1 solo.

So still nothing I would drop into rashesh. Perhaps it's kolgrima in sotn vs everything. Ambushing bears help vs flanking battleengines.

I played kolgrima twice yesterday.
Gk Winter troll Stone ua Double bears Champs+skaldi Fire eaters Valka Fell caller
Bears are amazing. I am not sure if I want to ambush both units.
Not sure about the gk it was a really nice control piece but stealth really ruins ur play.
Another idea could be to switch fire eaters + valka for min lon riders.
My main "problem" will be that my upcoming tournaments will allow adr and I am currently playing ragnor as my second list. But sotn really do not like adr.

Rashesh ignores a lot of defensive techs like clouds stealth. That's why straight armor could be a problem. Ebdt with armor 22 and protected by mulg vortex could cause problems for their shooting to handle.
For the Nemo3 matchup 2 ebdt + storm troll could force the cygnar player to play their second list.

My first thought if Ragnor would be a good idea into this lists.
i came to a list like this:

this would allow me to play ADR cause the second list is currently Kolgrima in Sotn. Which would allow some nice ADR tech for some interesting options. 3 Shieldguards shoud be a good start vs Skorne and Mulg to stop their debuff stuff is also a nice option. I would really love to add Llanyssa but i am not sure if minimizing the stone is the way to go.

They are a good unit to jam. Similar to fennblades. Kind of the same purpose to jam ur opponent to deliver the champions as second wave. 13/14 pathfinder ad is really nice.
Grissel2 should be really good. Deflection so they are def 15 vs shooting. +1 speed. In combination with stone aura they could be speed 8 power 11 or speed 7 power 13 .
In my opinion their biggest drawback is their $ price. But they are a really well designed unit.
