Funny u asked about borka cause I played him yesterday. I would say he is a good partner. Back to madrak1 u got a lot of tools to clear infantry and 1 unit fennblades + ua + bomber + madraks axe + your other stuff could easy kill infantry swarms. If you cut the second min unit fennblades u could Max out a unit of champs + ua and still got points left. Your damage output would be way better.

i would change a bit at your current madrak build. I am a big fan of fennblades but i would cut the min unit with the ua. First i do not think a min unit is worth a 5 point ua and secondly i think madrak do not need another jaming unit if you are playing already a full unit fennblades. Secondly i would play a full unit of champs with ua instead of two min units cause you get better use out of your bond and that will also increase the healing potential of madraks feat. If you wanna play a second anoying unit i would think about adding kriel warriors.

After rereading Gnerds Threads about Kolgrima and Madrak i am really unsure what i would like to play currently. Perhaps i can update you on my thought processes.
What i expect on the oppsite site currently and in future:

Even with Nemo3 probably fading away their will be a still a lot of shooting. Cygnar/Ret/Mercs/COC/Skorne... this should ask for a warlock like Gunny or Kolgrima.
To build a Gunny list it would be in POD with either MK or GK or a Kolgrima list in Pod or perhaps SoTN. I am interested in testing a Kolgrima SoTN if it s not too fast + feat for gunlines. Main drawback for a Kolgrima SoTN list would be that both lists center around Champs and Mealok and Siege would be really happy to face your pairing.

Perhaps it depends on your build of which matchups are problematic. I run my madrak1 list in boh with fennblades as a screening unit which really help to deliver champs. Cause playing the old stone fire is not a main problem. I am running 3 warders at the moment as a test and I am really happy playing them.
Talking to friends of mine Siege could be a big problem. Mortality and stuff removing tough should be also a problem.
I am not sure how much armor this list is able to crack.
That's why I thought about madrak2.
My current madrak1 build:
Bomber
Mauler
Runbearer
Max stone sse
Max champs skaldi
Fennblades ua
Min warders
Min long riders
Fell caller

As players getting better at scenario play the downfall of Pod list begun in my opinion. First of Pod list center around 4-5 beasts (Mulg,Mauler,EBDT,Bomber,(Rok?!)) , some lights and some support stuff. SR18 seems to be even faster then SR17 i am not very optimistic that PoD lists will be the way to go. The Dutch Masters were won by a troll player playing M1 BoH and Grim2. This could be an option. Mortality seems better and better vs Champs,Chosen,MOW and the new faction. Another option would be Madrak2. Hello Trolls,
we are playing a lot of list centered around Champions either with Madrak1, Kolgrima or other casters. Sometimes we build them in BoH sometimes in SotN. In my opionon all these list have really similar weakneses. Like Fire , Calamity, Mortality... first thinks out of my head.
To find a partner to handle this i am either thinking about a Pod build but i think pod really strugles in szenario play.
My new idea is kind of an old one playing a Madrak2 list with a lot of single wound infatry.
Perhaps my troll buddies have some nice ideas too.

In my experience the biggest problem to face with champs is cont fire. They do not like to burn. I know their is no way I would switch the elder in this list but that's the main weakness in my opinion.

Not sure if I'll find the time to come to a verdict on it in time for Kingdomcon but I think its interesting. I would play a bomber instead of two ice trolls. He shoot 12" instead of 10", is better at clearing infantry,+2 armor, does something even if he does not hit. This list will struggle in scenario and I can't see a lot of lists beside Nemo3 where I would play kolgrima instead of madrak1. |

Depending on your list I would not say that kolgrima has trouble vs cold immune. Sure if their opponent caster is immune to cold your assassination is off the table but kolgrima s tool box is deep enough to ignore it. And a lot of cold immune models will struggle vs kolgrima like sorcha or vayl cause a lot of their tools depend on cold too and our old lady is cold immune too

okay i agree to your counterpoints if you still plan for nemo3. My ideas where in a world post nemo3. If we stay at our current meta wont be Eborka not an even better partner for madrak?

I am not sure if your Madrak1 list has to beat Rasheth. As soon as the cid for nemo will be live i think you could switch your kolgrima build to something like Kolgrima in BoH. Which should be really playable into Skorne.

I played ragnor vs rashesh twice in a tournament that was not really a good matchup. I am thinking to switch kolgrima into boh so I am able to play this matchup into rashesh.
