From Matt Wilson in the last Privateer Press News/Insider. So, Privateer Press announces they will discontinue the older hand-sculpted models which will not be converted digitally for 3D printing, and they didn't expect a run on these older models?
Sometimes I wonder exactly how capitalism doesn't collapse under it's own business premises.

I'm not sure why you think Privateer Press embodies the entirety of capitalism, so that when they make a mistake it's a failing on the part of capitalism itself.

Just an example of what seems to be constant looking backwards to predict the future without considering potential reaction to different circumstances. Humans (and I don't exclude myself) very often leap assuming they already know everything, then act surprised when the result isn't as they expected.

Soul, man, having watched the WM/H General Facebook page for the past several months, I am convinced that most people just like to hear themselves talk. I can think of about six people who have consistently said anything substantive whatsoever.

So that's an example of human nature, not capitalism specifically then?
I agree, looking to the past to try to predict the future is of course human nature, the human brain looks for patterns in everything, it's a survival trait. Hindsight is always 20/20, and it's often easier to see the big picture when you're on the outside looking in.
I personally considered (and am still thinking about) trying to pick up any models on my wishlist now while they are still available, but I didn't predict that so many people would actually do so because a)I often see people dump armies on ebay when they get tired of an army or the meta shifts,
b)there's always a lot of cheaper second-hand stuff on ebay eating into sales, I figured there would be even more so (and therefore even less people buying from PP and third party vendors) what with a lot people dumping "non-Prime" models now that they won't be supported anymore. So I'm quite surprised myself by the news that sales for stuff that's about to be legacy jumped up.
While an industry professional might be expected to make better predictions than me, this is kind of an unprecendented (or at least uncommon) situation: an old established wargame basically saying "The game is still happening, but all the old stuff will not be supported soon".
Anyway. Sorry if it sounded like I was attacking you or anything.

Sure, I mean, I often ramble on about stuff no-one cares about myself. I write movie reviews on my blog that no-one reads just because I have stuff I want to say. We're here to talk about toy soldiers, not everything said in these forums needs to be meaningful. Hell, last time I got a little bit serious on this forum I regretted it. But that wasn't anyone's fault or anything, except maybe my own.

No worries. I don't think I explained myself well, and at this point, I think I should stop digging the hole deeper.
