Just stepped into Retribution and claimed the models that used to be my brother's (he has fallen to Grymkin)
Going through the heavy warjack models and something leaves me bothered.
The Vyre trilogy has an obvious shoulder mounted weapon.
The Shyeel Phoenix uses its shoulder discs to fire and the Hydra fires from its fists right?
What does the Manticore use?

Its power field itself, perhaps. Shyeel myrmidons has intergral cannon, but there is no 'pointing' barral so you better think that it is a part of its power field system. Also the description of Phoenix says its blazing power field can ignite surrounding air. Remember that all Shyeel myrmidons cannot use its ranged attacks while its field generator is crippled.

There's an illustration somewhere, but I don't remember if it was No Quarter, or one of the Retribution command books, or what.
But long story short, yeah: it sort of channels the gun energy through its shield and blasts you that way.
High tech!

Checked out the Command Book and saw a pic of a Gorgon seemingly generating energy in its force field. Is that what you meant?

I think the discs on the shoulders of the Phoenix and Chimera and Hemera's right hand are the arc nodes.
