So far in my (modest) Khador career, I've only played Winter Guard Command. I'm gearing up to try Wolves of Winter, and I'm wondering: how many units of Doom Reavers should I take? I'm guessing three; too many, or not enough...?

In my experience, the theme doesn’t start being functional at all until you reach 5 units of Reavers.

In my only-list-building-experience and playing on Wartable twice, its 4 or 5. I like the 4 unit build because you can fit in Alexia2 and 2 Void Archons...and both are amazing models. Having that said, you can also play 5 units, with one of each.
Or you play Brawlmachine and you dont have to buy more than one XD

Assuming you’re asking about 75 point games.
Prior to Void Archons, I liked 5. Now wanting to fit them in plus Alexia, 4 or 5 to taste. Until the COVID-19 pandemic is over, none is fine. I think if you only have 3, you’re really limiting yourself to some niche builds (e.g. Strakhov and a bunch of jacks, Zerkova’s double outriders, etc.). I think you can make 3 units work if you like playing jack heavy, but I’d really recommend investing in the 4th unit.
You will never, ever use more than 6 and 5 is actually quite a lot because the support in the theme is so good.

I would probably get 4, then you can see if you need the 5th. I do not Play the theme, but I cannot squeeze 5 into lists when list building

With Void Archons and some support, 4 units is good. You could sometimes want to take a fifth one, but not more.
