Hey guys, a buddy of mine wants to play legion of everblight but they're one of the factions that I never really figured out. He really likes all the dragon models and the fast movement style appeals to him a lot. What I'm looking for are suggestions for a 50 point list that he will like as well as some good early purchases for him. My normal method of research has been made difficult due to the impending CID so I turn to you guys in the hopes that someone with decent experience with legion will be able to give me some advice.
Thanks in advance!

Things are a little bit in flux right now until the CID lands. Rumor is that it will land on the 23rd.

Well the starter box is pretty good place to start as long as you're willing to proxy the Shredders as Mekanoshredders. Kryssa was always a fun warlock and the CID can only make her better. Just throwing something together, I got this: Seraph and Mekanoshredder can add 4" threat to your Neraphs, or if you Fury isn't an issue, a Warlord if you drop the Forsaken and a Shepherd, both of which can do work under Kryssa's feat and, hopefully, ignite post-CID. conflictchamber.com/?ca200O_-2fg3qceJeJaObubbbbb9aYa_b0Legion [Theme] Children of the Dragon [Kryssa 1] Kryssa, Conviction of Everblight [+31] - Mekanoshredder [4] - Neraph [12] - Neraph [12] - Seraph [14] - Succubus [0(4)] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] Blighted Nyss Shepherd [1] The Forsaken [4] Blighted Nyss Raptors (max) [18] Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (max) [15] - Blighted Nyss Swordsman Abbot & Champion [0(6)] To go in a different direction, here's a Primal Terrors list with Ogrun that can be built from the old Mk2 Two Player Box. Assault lets the Ogrun threaten greater than one might expect. Ogrun didn't get touched so they should be a stable suggestion. conflictchamber.com/?ca200O_-2haAqcbfeJeJcob8csb8csfTfTLegion [Theme] Primal Terrors [Lylyth 1] Lylyth, Herald of Everblight [+30] - Mekanoshredder [4] - Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11] - Neraph [12] - Neraph [12] Spell Martyr [1] Blighted Ogrun Warspears (max) [15] - Warspear Chieftain [5] Blighted Ogrun Warspears (max) [15] - Warspear Chieftain [5] Hellmouth [0(6)] Hellmouth [0(6)]

Thanks for the replies guys. I saw the cid thing and read through the thread on here about it. Mekanoshredder and seraph on an angelius looks amazing. Are there any particularly powerful models/units/warcasters/themes I should steer him towards? I am an extreme optimizer and want him to have a good chance.

Primal Terrors and Children are going to be pretty good going forward. Oracles too, i cannot say anthing about Ravens. I myself haven't played with Ravens much, but with the Archon coming, you could probably make a case for a small horde of lessers to buff the shooting of the Archangel, Teraphs, and Banshees. Maybe throw in some Croaks with some clouds to cover them. Also, try to be careful about support bloat. I love the Seraph, but you have to consider if it's always worth it at 14pts for effectively just a boostable flare and 2" range extender on wings. I'd say the safest buys are probably the Battlebox, a standalone Neraph/Seraph kit, and forsaken. Battlebox gives us the staple Neraph which is priced competitively and takes buffs well, a decent-soon-to-be-strong warlock, proxyable lessers, and finally the Bolt thrower which is a nice enough control piece that most of our ranged warlocks want for its animus. The flyer box gives you a second heavy attacks or a good support piece. Finally, the forsaken is fury support that is available in multiple theme forces, and even free in some.
