I got to finally get them on a real table top last weekend. Played them a bit too conservatively (bad) and I know expensive but.....
1) SP 6 with reach is always good 2) They SHOOT! 3) They RFP!!! 4) They bring themselves back!!! 5) In Flames they have this really janky rules interaction that lets them vengeance attack, bring a model back, and then that model gets to vengeance. Yes, fully able to pacman through units. It is dope.
6) I really hate that Valachev is limited to Wolves but I am warming to the idea of messing around with them in either a Vlad2 or Strakov2 list in WOlves
Vlad2: What is better than POW 12? Pow15 with Hand of Fate on some of them. Wolves also always can enjoy range attacks.
Strakov2. Quicken gets them up to Def 16 against Shooting with a threat of 13 in melee. On the approach they could be up to ARM 23 - which is going to get through much of the small and medium arms fire. Last stand feels....well...Ridiculous and could be devastating on a model that has that recursion element since you can bring back dudes if they kill and then since last stand destroys rather than RFPs bring them back after that.
They also generate Souls to fuel your void archons.
Anyone play them outside of Flames yet?

How do you get to def 16 with quicken? They are base def 12?
Also isn’t there a rule that says ranking officer can’t use the order on a unit’s card, so that would make the max armor for them with Strakhov2 19. There might be some fun shenanigeans to do with last stand on them though.

Yes - I was counting putting blizzard on them since you would want to stack def buffs on the approach if using them that way.
