So he just makes everything awesome but there are 3 units I REALLY want to try with him (in addition to the whole IFP package)
Nyss+ Valachev. Cause the idea of QUICKENED Nyss with Zepher is just SICK. Presently a dude in our meta is in Love with Harby hanging out with the medium jack that provides cover. The idea of shooting her to smithereens after many martrys is HIGH on my to do list. You are looking at a threat range of 24 inches - one of the longest CRAs in the game. They go to DEF 16 against Range and Magic. Moreover, for REAL laughes and chuckles cast Q top of one and get those dude 18 inches up the board. Say hello to my elf friends INDEED.....AND for REAL laughes and chuckles put Return fire on a few if you have the focus left over ;-). Needless to say Last Standed Nyss on the charge will allow you to get your dice rolling 40K on.
DoomReavers with the UA. ARM 17 on the Feat with Feign Death. Then cast Rise. Go kill things boys.
Boomhower+Valachev for medium base goodness and how irritating they will be as both a tarpit and then end game. I love the idea of ARM 17 Boomhowevers with IV - really essentially forces folks to send actual "stuff" over to kill them rather than bloody electroleaps.
But of all of them I want to see how the Nyss Perform. EXPENSIVE package but if paired with a good IV target (Black Fangs) and then a jack or 2 I think you have a package.

Calling it now, Battle Mechanics, last stand those bad boys and you have pow 8 weapon masters with boosted mat 5, all for less than a point each

Bombardiers under Last stand, them additional attacks on crit.
Alexia1. Put Last stand on her turn 1 by going out of command range and then keep it.

AKs? No? Alright then, just asking.
Hmm... Cutthroats with Valachev and Quicken will be getting a lot of movement each turn...

I think you're onto something with the nyss. That sounds pretty good actually, nyss never hit and they definitely would with last stand. The hunter is cute as well, valachev is such a weakness so be careful there, I was running them with Irusk2 and when he died it went from op to nope. I guess if you have last standed them already though its no biggie for strakh. but yeah.. 12 inch move a turn and shooting and def 16 is gross. nothing is going to melee you until you want them to. I like.
I've been thinking winterguard for similar reasons. pow 12 is the same as a pow9 wm essentially without the spikes. And They are just so much cheaper.
My strakh plan is a. put him together after kc b. proxy 50 winterguard.

Yeah I've also been musing about a big WGI spam in winterguard kommand with him, probably will never happen since I don't own enough models for that. Nyss hunters are interesting if somewhat expansive. Do you have a specific list in mind with them?

Really guys, no Ulhans? Come on, either SPD10, ARM21, or pow 16 weapon master isn't good enough for you?

Nyss hunters are interesting if somewhat expansive. Do you have a specific list in mind with them? Help me finish this list. I've been dreaming about stuffing the Nyss in a Strak 2 list and have this...it's short 12 points. War Room Army Khador - Strak 2 Nyss Theme: No Theme Selected 67 / 75 Army Assault Kommander Strakhov & Kommandos - WJ: +22 - Assault Kommander Strakhov & Kommandos (Cont.) - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker - PC: 4 - Conquest - PC: 37 (Battlegroup Points Used: 22) Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 9 Grunts: 19 - Koldun Kapitan Valachev - PC: 4 Black Dragons - Leader & 9 Grunts: 17 - Black Dragon Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard 4 Conquest gets Invol resolve because holy smokes that's a lot of ARM 22 boxes. Sylys is in as a range extender and for the free focus. Nyss get quicken turn 1, and Dragons get last stand. You are then in a nice position to hot swap last stand with the Dragons doing a CMA to put the hurt on hard targets... it's a bait and switch. I don't know what to do with the last 12 points. I think I like the Dragons better than vanilla pike for the ARM mini feat, practiced manuvers, and side step (to get out of the way of screaming Nyss).

2 Eliminators and a Gobber tinker. That will give you three very fast units and something to heal the colossal if you need to.

I should have added that my other list would be a Karchev Jaws theme with 8 jacks, so I need something that helps with he matchups that struggles with... Zaal dudeapam, Rey double sentinels, maybe Haley 2, etc. So... Maybe Orin plus a Ternion? Sniper boat? WMM and Scouts? Mechs and a MOW drakhun or Fenris?

I'm not sure Orin is needed, the conquest can't be dominated and with IR people will need good rolls to be able to stranglehold it. Also Strakhov2 can be stealth if needed, it should offer all the protection against spell he needs. I like the double eliminators since they can work wonders against sentinels and dudespam in general. They are also fast so they sould be able to kinda follow the quickened nyss.

Those are really good points! I'm seeing the Eliminators now running as a wicked wave 2 behind the nyss who can then charge through them to give em another round of shooting... neat. Good point on stranglehold! I think this would be a good WW drop.

It really depends on your opponents list, if he has woldwyrd and a pureblood in the list you do not want to go up against this with Strakhov2, The woldwyrd with purgation, Rof3 and base pow 12 can do incredibly nasty things to a colossal with an armor buff, especially with a curse of shadow caster like WW. I've found that when going against circle if he has more than one woldwyrd you do not want to drop a caster that relies on upkeep and Strakhov2 is probably one of our most upkeep reliant caster. If there are no WoldWyrd though, you should be good to go.

That's a really good point about about the WW beast composition. We have 2 WW players in my shop and neither uses more than 1. Anyway, I would probably drop Karchev with 8 jacks into that matchup anyway since it's not hard to piece trade up well and the WW player usually only has 4 heavies.
So here's the list...
Assault Kommander Strakhov & Kommandos - WJ: +22 - Assault Kommander Strakhov & Kommandos (Cont.) - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker - PC: 4 - Conquest - PC: 37 (Battlegroup Points Used: 22) Gobber Tinker - PC: 2 Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 9 Grunts: 19 - Koldun Kapitan Valachev - PC: 4 Black Dragons - Leader & 9 Grunts: 17 - Black Dragon Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard: 4 Kayazy Eliminators - Leader & Grunt: 5 Kayazy Eliminators - Leader & Grunt: 5
What do you think?
Wow...that's a crap ton of infantry... ---
