So with the advent of double Dhunion Archons for free in WWfF, Maelok seems to have good game into the theme? If you bring Valkyries and something like boomhowlers, and all the archons you can stuff in the list, that's a lot of healing. Maelok can revive chaff and trigger healing again. Heck even the pyg tanks are worth considering here. Primal Archons are particularly tough to remove with him.

Do you think it's worth considering when Threads of Life are off the table? That feels like a substantial portion of her kit.

I think Maelok WWFF will be a thing, but dhunians aren’t going to be a part of that. The free vision is just too integral to her kit to not use Currently the list I’ve been working with is
Maelok the Dreadbound - WB: +28 - Gatorman Soul Slave - PC: 0 - Swamp Horror - PC: 15 - Blackhide Wrastler - PC: 16
Primal Archon - PC: 8 Primal Archon - PC: 8 Pyg Tank - PC: 5 Pyg Tank - PC: 5 Void Archon - PC: 8 Void Archon - PC: 8 Ledfoot & Tredz - PC: 7 Hermit of Henge Hold - PC: 0 Boomhowler, Solo Artist - PC: 0 Gatorman Witch Doctor - PC: 4 Swamp Gobber Chef - PC: 1
Farrow Valkyries - Leader & 2 Grunts: 8 Farrow Valkyries - Leader & 2 Grunts: 8 Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew - Leader & 1 Grunt: 2
And honestly it’s been performing damn well. There are just so many small synergies between the models that make the list good and real fun to play with primals knocking down for tank trash shots(yes it also applies to blast damage) mortality voids and hermit making pow 20 weapon master guns. Swamp horror handing out elasticity to literally anyone. Slingshotting hermits forward with boomie and ride along and death ride (16” master of ruin bubble threat). It’s just good and sits most the game between 20-25 arm. Big plus is this also isn’t just a ranged list. It’s the best definition of what a mixed arms list should be since everything also hurts in melee
THEME: Will Work For Food

Being able to heal the hermit and ensure your valkyries don't get wiped out so they can be revived is a big deal. Also if you swap the chef and bellows crew for a gremlin swarm, dhunian archon + gremlin swarm can be pretty annoying too. It's true that anti healing hoses the double dhunian combo, but with one of them you still get a lot of value due to synergies with the type of models that Maelok brings. p/s: my comments above are sketchy -- forgot that Threads of Life don't work on undead.

How are any of these combos annoying or helping to ensure Valkyries don't die when Maelok is making everything undead? In my experience, Gremlin Swarms tend to just die if they get hit, they don't really benefit much from the healing.

My bad, I keep forgetting that threads of life only work on living (I blame LOS warmachine). I've used the Dhunian to save swarms in other lists to great effect. The point with Maelok would be to let something like Boomies or Valks die to double trigger mother's embrace, and then revive them back for more healing. Funnily enough you can have models in a unit run out of formation for them to benefit from Threads of Life? I guess the question is whether the hermit, pgy tanks, void and primal archons typically don't die in one turn and can benefit from healing. I guess Corrupted Bauer's list makes more sense than going Dhunian

Yeah, if Threads of Life worked on any Warrior model I think we'd be seeing a lot of six Archon Maelok lists

It just seems a lot more fun than the standard Blindwater Maelok list, without sacrificing too much competitively speaking.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I printed the Dhunian's card last week I didn't see threads mention the warrior model needing to be living? It doesn't mention it in mother's embrace either.

Other side question since I never considered it. Does turning undead from death pact remove construct? Or do the tanks get to be the weird undead constructs? Because if so I got some cool converting and painting to do

They'll be undead constructs. Cryx has a few of those already.
