I, myself, have heard nothing but positive buzz around Riot Quest. I am not plugged into the social media blogosphere so their lack of tweeting or whatever about the game is meaningless to me.
I’ve heard plenty of good word-of-mouth about it.
So...?

Still waiting for my Riot Quest box to arrive, although tbh not really fussed if it does turn up now tgat Bamfist didn't get Force Barrier for non-Rhulic mercs, and Harlowe is a much better slot for Hammerstrike

Yeah - this is an employee who didn't walk into it with eyes WIDE open. Happens to the best of us.....but is what it is - a family owned company with a guy who sorta stumbled into a "hit" (remember, Warmachine was not the core - rather it was Witchfire and the whole D20 OSL scenario craze).
I do think there is a problem that you see time and time again at the company - the lack of marketing resources, the tension between fluff and rules and the inability to really think hard about power level in a comprehensive fashion....and yet the WTC fired and was well attended and very well followed. But they hired a new CEO - it takes a while before changes can be made.
PS. RiotQuest is a blast. I have really enjoyed playing it and look forward to the next waves hitting more broadly
PPS they do have a problem in Southern California (Where Matt lives) with LGS support as most (all?) of the stores have cut back significantly at the same time the meta is frankly pretty poised to grow.
PPPS - It _SEEMS_ like MonPoc is doing well. Frankly not a game I have gotten into that much (I just have only so many brain cells for games with complicated model specific rules that require me to understand and strategize about card synergies).

Although it is almost impossible to read. At least for me - for I am not a native English speaker and I am terrible at grammar as well.

I reported his gibberish several times but unfortunately nobody cared. Just had to learn to skip his posts as I didn't find an "ignore" option. I’ve heard plenty of good word-of-mouth about it. So...? So, you're here on this forum, which means you know PP and their product, and likely that's the reason your friends have the game as well. But let's imagine you're an average boardgamer, see the box somewhere, it catches your attention, you go home, google it and all you get is quickwatercanoe.wordpress.com/2013/11/24/review-riot-quest-10-2/You check Boardgamegeek which is by far the largest board game community/data repository, and the game's page is dead as if it was some forgotten bad game from the 80's. No hot reviews, no YT videos, no discussion. And all this now, when sending a copy of their first test prints to major reviewers/paying them to do how to play videos is probably the first (and best)things board game companies do to promote their new game. If they don't it's like a clear signal that they have little to be proud of, because why on earth wouldn't they do this if they believe the game is good?

Go to the user page in question => cogwheel at the top right => Block Member. On topic: PP has always been pretty bad at marketing, especially outside their already existing community, but that doesn't mean they don't take pride in their games.

As for PP pride in their games - I agree. I was talking about the perception of it from outside of their fanbase, when they seem to be trying to hide their games from sight.

PP may have some problems, but at least I value their game system. They rarely fails on the rules part.
But marketing is a problem, even if we are set aside 'the foundation of Lormahordes' issue. PP publishes new games too rapidly on recent some years, and I wonder how to manage all of them at once. It seems too excessive. They may have a potential to be a great company in miniature game industry, but their asset is yet to be compared by GW level. It seems that they are want to beat GW but isn't it too early?
Perhaps, they need to put new skirmisher games because they fear that GW's 'next generation Specialist Games' group will dominate the niche area if they are late for the party. But anyway, it is too fast and I wonder how they can manage all of them.

when i read the "revieuw" of working at pp i was instantly reminded of my current place of employment. a family run small company that seems to make calls based on convience instead of reality where everyone just Firetrucking ends up cursing or leaving at our boss his decision making.
the times the company works at best is when he's on holiday (wich luckily happens frequently).
now before i continue drawing paralels and making further assumptions. the WTC went pretty well (as my friends have informed me) and i doubt this game or company is gonna die quickly.
boardgame geek having no info on riotquest can be fixed by submitting our own revieuws? getting the ball rolling so to speak.
if i can squeeze another 5 years out of this game (hopefully 10) i'll be pretty content. (would love to get my arse into gear and try and join the WTC)

I haven't played RQ, was looking for info/opinions online and was actually surprised the game has already been released, considering how the online world considers it non-existant.
To be fair I am more willing to try Fantasy Brawl as a result, as it has positive reviews in abundance.

They tend to range from amusing to very stupid, but I'm willing to invest the 5-10 seconds it takes to decypher them.
