Seems hills are destined for the scrapheap. As sprays ignore both concealment and cover....
The issue is that Torch is overcosted but perhaps I will relook at him and his potential for overrunning on an assault shot to snipe out a pesky solo (or three ;-)

I think Karchev is going up in value for other reasons; he can run jack heavy in any theme without losing freebies (although there's not much reason to run Legion).
Torch remains poor; 18 points for a 6" spray on a melee package weaker than Drago is not anything to write home about

If Torch is going up in value, it's only because he's immune to the Infernal Desolator's ARM debuff spray. But that's not enough.

Torch really needs an 8" spray, and back to PS 18 on the saw

Karchev in AC? Bring all the tankers, two forge seers, and an assault chariot. Fill the rest with jacks?

Take a unit of mechanics at least. Advanced move on the Chariot, and full money from the repair bonus

I think it would be nice if Torch had Dual Attack instead of Assault to harmonize his targeting flare rules with the Spriggan. I don’t know how many times I assaulted with his flare and had to call a judge and refer to the infernal ruling that yes it works that way and I can put the flare wherever I want. Making them both the same might reduce confusion, also it would allow Torch to take advantage of Sentry to clear off some jamming infantry before his activation among other things.
And... yeah, apart from that, Torch is a little tricky because he has a lot of tools and not much melee output. It’s hard to trigger sprint, for example, when you struggle to significantly damage an opposing heavy.

I might drop down to Min mechanic and toss in a forge seer.

Torch really needs an 8" spray, and back to PS 18 on the saw Ah, good old P+S 18 on the saw, I miss that. Give me that and a dogganmED ALCHEMICAL MASK dogganmIT and I'll be happy.
I mean, people still won't take him because themes, but at least he might see some play with Strakhov that way.
EDIT: Huh, this forum censors "god dam n" to "dogganm"? How bizzare. It would be nice if it at least kept my all-caps exclamation when it did it. Let me try again: "Give me that and a GOLDURNED ALCHEMICAL MASK GOLDURNIT!"

When looking at sprays, shouldn't we look at actual good sources of spays, something like outriders, winterguard infantry and may assaul kommandoes flamethrower, now that taking assault kommandoes won't remove free cards.
I get that we are in a meta where sprays are good, but the good sprays that see the table are stuff like the railless from CG, so big spray on a relatively quick model that have a fair initial rat, Torch really doesn't check any of these boxes.
Even for people playing Strakhov I think you're pretty much always better off with a grolar than with torch if you want a premium jack.

P+S 18 Ram plus that lovely, lovely autocannon plus always-on Pathfinder (compared to Relentless Charge) is hard to beat for exactly the same price...
