What do you guys think of using Kozlov in a Legion of Steel list? Maybe not the best choice for high-level competition, but I thought it would be easier for me to play. The Destroyers make sense to me not only to use his WJ points exactly but also because they have long range, AOE 4, and Arcing Fire, which allows them to not only clear charge lanes but also pick off support pieces like Paingivers and Choir. They also don't need much focus, which suits Koz just fine. As for 2x Uhlans, I love my cavalry, but I also thought that a slightly lower model count would be easier at least at first. I'll see how it goes. conflictchamber.com/#b31b_-0yf-7p7p8fdidi8xbR7H7I7K7KKhador Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Legion of Steel (Kozlov 1) Lord Kozlov, Viscount of Scarsgrad [+28] - Destroyer [14] - Destroyer [14] - War Dog [3] Iron Fang Kovnik [0(4)] Iron Fang Kovnik [0(4)] Uhlan Kovnik Markov [7] Great Bears of the Gallowswood [9] Iron Fang Pikemen (max) [15] - Iron Fang Pikemen Officer & Standard [0(4)] Iron Fang Uhlans (max) [20] Iron Fang Uhlans (max) [20]

Sounds like a good list, I was also curious about the double Ulhan build, seems like Kozlov isn't a bad choice for that. I like how in your face the list can be with two units of ulhan and the advance moving unit of pikemen. The feat an fury are also pretty good on any of the units. Tactical supremacy on the Pikemen can allow you to delay the mini feat an still be far on the board on turn 1. Let us know how it goes.

I guess I should discuss what Kozlov specifically does bring to the table. The feat and Fury, obviously, but also Tactical Supremacy is really good on the IFP, especially after the advance move. They can shield wall first turn and still be as far as 25 inches up the board. Turn 2 I can drop it and put it on Kozlov himself if he does not need Chosen Ground. With only 2 jacks, that would be more situational, but still useful. It's just that reposition on him with Sidestep and Parry from the War Dog is very flexible. He can be 17/17 in melee and just run around tearing cortexes out of jacks. Or for that matter, he can put it on a Kovnik. That sounds pretty good too.

I think it can also be good on a warjack, our warjack tend to lag behind in the legion of steel theme, tactical supremacy can help with that. It's also good on shooting models in general.

I think it's very hard to pick which jacks are best with koslov... I would say decimators are neat with him, but they didn't get the same price reduction that the destroyers did.
It's also going to be hard to get koslov to give out fury to the units that want it. With double uhlans, Tac Supremacy might be best on koslov himself, just to keep up. On that note, you may want double kodiaks for the extra distance when running. Or perhaps a grolar?
I really like koslov and I struggle to make him shine. I'm interested in how to get him there.

Yeah, 2xUhlans, 2x Destroyers is the way to go with Kozlov. I think your list is pretty much optimal. Personally I would take mechaniks over the dog or upgrade one Destroyer into Grolar to not have that 1 leftover point.
