I don't know about Will, but I'd really like to see Ravyn get a makeover...I miss seeing my girl in action.

Heck with that, I want Garryth to be made into a workable caster. That guy suffered an entire edition and needs some love.
Actually, we have a surprising amount of casters that are just not up to par.

Actually, we have a surprising amount of casters that are just not up to par. Not really? Most factions seem to have around 5-6 casters they turn to for competitive play and so do we. If anything we have a higher percentage of playable casters than most.

I really enjoyed Garryth in mkii personally. But, I can see why you would say that. Additionally, if they do rework him I wonder if they would give a little love to Moros as well? I would like to see his focus up to 7 and add the feat cancellation from mage blight onto arcane vortex. Amazing

If anything we have a higher percentage of playable casters than most. This could just mean that the best 5-6 casters of every faction are being used, not that 5-6 per faction are truly competitive. That's just me playing devil's advocate though, as I do think most of our casters are in decent shape, though a few tweaks here and there are not unwelcome.
I'd love to see Garryth and Ravyn get some attention though, as they were my first 2 casters in faction when it released oh so many moons ago.

Retribution has 3?
I was going to say kaelyssa, vyross2, and elara2 with the possibility of issyria. A quick look at DGI also shows rhan and helena in there which surprises me.
But it is almost all the three I mentioned.
'Playable' is a hard yard stick to really measure but I'd say that most of our casters are in a poor state. They can be played but by and large most of them are weaker than those of other factions. That being said if they modify the themes to allow units/models from outside themes and aiyana in faction I think Vyros1, Helena, and Rhan all benefit substantially and may be ok just from that. Hopefully.

But it is almost all the three I mentioned. Elara2, Issyria, Kaelyssa, Rahn and Vyros2 are all really good casters who work well even with our current theme restrictions. Rahn works great in Defenders for example, he certainly doesn’t need Battle mages to function, that’s always been more of a trap people fall into with him, even in mk2.

The following CID changes were mentioned on today’s Weekly rumble: Artificer: Can be taken in Legions of Dawn. His ability that gives Force barrier to models within 3” will change so that he instead gives Force barrier to a target model/unit. That weakens its power in jack-heavy Forges lists but provides some nice shooting protection to Dawnguard, DEF 14 Sentinels are a lot more survivable vs guns than DEF 12 ones. Battle Mages: Lose Force Barrier and gain Set Defense instead. Go down to 9 points.

I guess you can stack the new Artificer buff on them but like... eh? I am digging the idea of running 4 jack marshals in Legion of Dawn though, you can do some janky crap there with Issyria or Elara.

agreed. Their immunity to blast is one of their better attributes. Why would a magic support unit what set defense.
I like the artificer idea somewhat. It has always annoyed me that giving out force barrier is easily stopped by shooting the artificer standing directly next to the affected model.

Force barrier on a stick? That's game-breakingly powerful.

Force barrier on a stick? That's game-breakingly powerful. hyperbole, much? The artificer was already force barrier on a stick, this just changes the dispersion pattern - you can get a unit that then ranges further upfield, but you can't get multiple warjacks/solos and your caster with a single cast.

From what we know so far I agree, it is good but not exactly the best thing in the game. I’m wondering if Tanan is mixing up Force barrier and Polarity field, because Polarity field on a stick would indeed be crazy. Taking Sentinels from Def 12 to 14 vs shooting is great but not really game-breaking.

Too bad the Artificer cannot be taken in Shadows where Force Barrier would be really useful...
Those changes to Battle Mages just seem like a straight down-grade, Set Defence is not integral to their role of moving models around at range, now they are taxed a 5 point solo to have what they used to get innately.
Their logic behind is probably they realised the artificer was close to pointless in Forges, so they decided to nerf Battle Mages so he can buff them back up again
