I am bringing this over from the PP forums. These are my things I am working on or have made for CoI.
Finished: CoI Battlefield Conditions BattleConditions_final
WIP: CoI Squad Commanders and Commander Attachments
"Battlefield Conditions" is a deck of 50 cards, a card is drawn at the beginning of the game, and the effect will change the game in some way.
-----
"Squad Commanders and Commander Attachments" are new model-cards that I am planning on working on.
Squad Commanders are Solos with the ability "Squad Commander*."
* "Squad Commander - A squad can only have one Squad Commander solo in a list. This model has Tac Manipulation and can perform Strategems. This model can also perform any Strategem from any Commander Attachment attached to this Squad Commander."
"Tac" is a Focus/Fury-type-thing that represents a Squad Commander's tactical prowess. A Squad Commander can spend any number of Tac a turn to perform Strategems. Unlike Focus, Tac only recovers 1 point a round.
"Strategems" are tactical abilities/commands the Squad Commander has. The one example I have is the Strategem "Rally**."
** "Rally - Cost 2 - All Friendly models in this model's Command Range automatically move 2" in the direction of this model."
Commander Attachments essentially work like a Warcaster/Warlock Attachment, but with a few differences. There can be any number of Commander Attachments attached to a Commander. When one or more Commander Attachments are attached to a Squad Commander they become a Commander Unit.
Each Commander Attachment would have on its card a Strategem. The Attachment cannot use this Strategem, but the Commander it is attached to can.
Commander Attachments also have 2 choices for Cost. The normal PC or a RC (Requisition Cost) (army lists using the Squad Commander rules would have to point out whether the Attachment is using PC or RC).
Requisition Cost is an automatic Requisition penalty, and must be calculated after the rest of the army, RC cannot be used if it causes your Requisition to be lower than 2.
Squad Commanders would be faction-specific characters (albeit fan-fic characters) and Commander Attachments would be generic roles that are not faction-bound, save for a possible few exceptions. (Fell Caller instead of War Bard for Trollbloods example)
On top of the new model-types, this ruleset would add another card type to the Command Deck, "Strategize***."
*** "Strategize - Play this card to return 1 Tac to your Squad Commander."
Oh and one last thing about the rules. The "Squad Commander" ruleset is an alternative way to play from the Commander Upgrade cards. If you choose to use Squad Commanders and Commander Attachments you do not use Commander Upgrades... unless ya know, you want to, I mean it is just homebrew fan-fic rules.
And with that I leave you with the mock-up for the Commander Attachment card.
