So, i finaly did it. I orderd myself some CoC. One can only live in denial for so long. I was always held back by the fact that CoC gets so few updates. But i finaly gave in. Im pretty much set on the first list i wanna play. Its an Iron Mother list with PA. But I would rather play that into warmachine then into hordes. So im lookin for a decent hordes drop. ( i often play into trolls (madrak1/doomy2). I also was wondering about the infantery. I would love to run me some dudes. But they just seem to all hit like noodles. to begin with. On top of that the dmg buffs are mild. (no fury/battlelust etc). So how are you managing armor when you play dudes? These are the pro's and cons for me. Feel free to correct me pro - TEPs are the bomb. - Great casters. - Lot of syngery (knockdowns/flares/beacons etc). - PA - Decent jacks. (nothing spectacular) - TEP Cons - Few updates - Light on the armor crack. (unless synt) - Crap infantery. (i only dig the recipricators so far). - Seems mainly attrition on paper? (Aura assination seems to be cut down alot). - No character jacks. Thanks for any advice.

My favorite Hordes drop is Lucant in Clockwork Legions. The recursion on small guys is fantastic when stopping beasts, and he can buff them by putting Positive Charge on something nearby

I disagree on armor cracking. Father can crack like it's his job. Take him under our Jack theme and take a bunch of Conservitors. Between positive charge and their Hand of Vengence, you're at pow 19 with 2 open fists for only 12 pts. Are they the highest pow in the game? No, for that price they get work done.
Don't forget that TEP. It's not the best in the game for armor cracking, but rof 5 dice, it can crack in a pinch too.
Oh, on a side note, between sac pawn on two, and placing your free mines in the most annoying places possible, you should always have HoV

Welcome to the machine! Keep in mind, limited updated can be a good thing too. No, we don't get new models very often, but if you don't mind that (or it's not your main army) that means you can perfect your knowledge of existing models, and how they work together so well. In an army that relies so much on synergy, this can be an ok thing.
Re: units, and armor cracking - I'll restate what the guys mentioned above, we definitely have options available. Lucant's Positive charge on a vector that's in melee lets ANY unit pile in and get the same bonus. Take the lowly Obstructors: they're doing 23.5 damage each with avg dice on the charge, they're dirt cheap, and Lucant's feat + Deceleration can reliably deliver them. Hot swap Positive Charge to another vector and repeat in another area of the board.

Wait, is there a reason you wouldn't just cast PC multiple times? It's not upkeep, so reasonably you could just cast it all around
