Hey guys,
I was reading this and I want to make sure this is true:
Naaresh can charge a random model then cast Cyclone and redirect to the intended target.
Is this accurate?
If it is does the intended target get charge dice for damage?
Any info helps.
Thanks

He absolutely can, but it acts exactly as if you had charged a model with 2 members of a unit and killed him with the first:
Naaresh gets to redirect his attack but gets no benefits of the charge. so its just his MAT 7 PS15 (?? whatever he is full buffed from his BDSM shenanigans) 2 dice hit

The best way is to Cyclone first, the charge the target to get extra dice. If distance is an issue, Tyrant Commander & Standard adds 2" to the Cyclone movement. So nonlinear charge with 1" melee range gets 18" from the target. (8(cyclone)+9(charge)+1(melee)=18"
But charging followed by cyclone gets the same distance with the added benefit of no free strikes on the way in. The above method only works in late game when less pieces are in the way.

Cyclone also makes an attack, which you lose if you cyclone first. i take MAT 9 effective and one extra hit over mat 7 with one damage boosted attack any day Also - not directed at anyone in particular but please Naaresh players do not bring a Tycom explicitly for the purpose of 2" threat extension on Naaresh. its 6pts. bring it if it helps the rest of your list and the fact it can help naaresh is a side benefit. Only reason i make a point to say this is i have seen Naaresh beast bricks which just have these random Tycoms sitting there

This must have been before themes? I would assume so. That said, Blur on Ferox seems okay so there could be a way to work this. DoA makes the most sense to me, though, followed by Warhost. In either of those, you can take a Drake to give Naaresh Pathfinder which on many tables is as or more important than the extra 2".

Better damage for a bit less maneuverability, I also didn't give credit to the back arc idea. There tends to be models to screen charges (ex. a kicky monk, or battle engine), so the cyclone first adds mobility, loses an attack, but gets the angle. The TyComm is also for Cats. As much as I like to run universal brick with him, I do like getting use out of Blur, and it gives TyComm something to do on the approach, giving them extra movement to gum up the opponents forces with tough/no knockdown added. Meanwhile, the bricks get loaded up for the following turn of window-breaking.
