Hey komrades, Having floundered around at the 25 to 50 point level I went "all in" on 75 points and Vlad 3's all the horses, just it seems...in time for the Legion of Steel theme to drop. Now as I am still relatively new I'm still foggy on how many attacks I get on the charge. If I'm reading the card correct: The initial charge at 2", but when do the pommel strike and the mount figure in? Does the mount attack only figure in when you trample "through" models? Can a kind soul help me break this down?

1. Charge! 2. You can charge over models, if you contact them you can whack them with an unboosted mount attack. But if you fail to kill them you'll stop. 3. If you make it to melee range, the mount may make one attack against the model with the mount. As a side note, mount attacks happen at the end of the movement, not during the combat phase. It allows you to get around admonition and anything that happens at the end of the movement phase. 4. Whack them with the lance, you can only attack with it during a charge attack. 5. You can't pommel strike on a charge. 6. If you don't charge, you can make one attack with the mount and one attack with the spike.

Just to clarify a little, though watch this I'll get it wrong. If a Cav model is in combat with someone, they can make a mount attack and whatever other weapon attack they have. - In the case of Uhlans, this makes a difference with regard to their range.
When a Cav model declares a charge, if at any point along their charge lane they contact another model they will make an Impact attack against that model and all models in the Mount's melee range. - If they fail to kill the intervening model, then they stop and fail their charge. - If they kill the intervening model they continue on their way to their target and then just make their charge attack. - You do not get to make more than one set of impact attacks, so if you did an Impact attack along the way to your target, you don't then get another impact attack against the charge target.
If the Charge Target was reached without any other impact attacks being made along the way, then you could do both the Impact and Charge attack against it.

Growl is correct. Only one set of Impact attacks. So you either charge over on the way in, or smack your oppoent twice.

The only issue is that if two people who are always right come into contact and they disagree, then which one is right?
Some major paradoxical going on there.

BTW - an important change from MK2
In MK 2 say that you did a change and got to your target (aka what would USUALLY be a "successful charge). But then you did an impact attack against said model. If you killed it you would be considered to have failed your charge - with all the things that go along with that.
But MK3 if you are there you can MAKE an impact attack and are considered to have SUCCEED in your charge.
This is key because of the REPO rule - which doesn't apply when you "fail your charge".
This especially matters because of how impact attacks allow you to make an attack against the model you touch (the impactee) AND all models within 1/2 inch of the Uhlan
It is also REALLY important with things like Daughters of the flame because of the 5 inch repo.
Also note - because no light versus heavy cav those OUTRIDERS can make impact attacks. Not precisely clearly WHY they would make them - but they can.....and a successful impact attack would seem, we believe in our meta, to trigger a battle wizard shot if Bad Santa is in 9.
