As you are speaking of Lylyth as a pair with Kryssa I won't knock the off topic. I myself am actually really wanting to play Lylyth 2 for some reason.
But if I was trying to pair something with Kryssa it would have to be something defensive. I can run Kryssa like a surgeon, but it dies to a stiff breeze. I use her feat to even the playing field after I'm down, but that's the last chance I really get.
I'm leaning towards a goofy off the wall Fyanna 2. But I still cannot deny the absolute gold that is Thagrosh 1. Saeryn 1 is massive board control, but nothing to back it up. If she had a single way to boost output (just free charges would likely be enough). I'd run her. Shadow bind and Blight bringer pie plate are just so oppressive.

I'm really wanting to find a Lylyth 1 or 2 list. But I've hardly played her in any composition before. It's also nothing to defend against guns, which the Kryssa list would fall over to in a heart beat. So the comment to take Thag1 as a pair would probably be smarter. This list is actually bonkers.....jam with banshees as soon as possible as they can fire all game with gunfighter. The hellions pieplate helps mitigate high armor targets and you are doing(if nothing has died yet) Over sixty attacks on feat turn. The list needs to jam as soon as possible and halt the opposition from getting into the zones enabling you to sit back and rack up the pts. As Oil Gourd lasts one round, the continuous effect which causes a POW 12 fire damage roll should be boosted? Oh, you mean that. Technically yes. Oil does last for a round so the fire damage roll (if it doesn't go out) is boosted at the beginning of the player's next turn. But I would think whatever the swordsmen charged would be dead the on your turn. Truthfully if you want to use croaks in that way I would oil the targets of Kryssa's Howling flames. Or other sprays like Typhon's. It could be used to make auto-boosted blast damage as well, so Ravagores or the Blight Bringer.

Yep, Howling Flames (doesn't that sound like a really really bad 50ies cover band?) is part of the deal too. Keep Kryssa safe, get Croaks far up and use Martyr to channel it. I'm trying to explore the possibilities here to reawaken the Croak Power of MkII

I spend 2 to cast revive *blip
So was just thinking about my list again and thought it was worth writing this in. It technically applies to any caster. But my games have been running it with Kryssa.
Spawning Vessel and Spirit Cauldron I picked up the Croc pot because one, I have a full gator army. But mostly because it feed the spawning vessel. I get it, that's really obvious and probably not what people see as "worth" 5 points. But consider this. a Min unit of the spawning vessel has, when all the ladies are alive, an 8" corpse collection range. The Croc pot always has 10". That not significantly covers a much larger area of the board. The Croc pot can also hold 5 tokens on it's own. Then, whil it's not needing to use it's action to generate those tokens, it's handing out puppet master.
So here's how my game went. Playing into CoC I obviously couldn't collect enemy corpses. The croc pot generated 3 tokens over turn one and two. So turn two I pop a shredder. Gunshots start picking off swordsmen. Spawning vessel fills up to 3 but the croc pot catches the over flow. Turn 3, new shredder. Turn 4 rolls around and all the lunch ladies are gone, but I can still spawn a shredder. Now, at this point there is no way to move the pot or get tokens within 4". The croc pot sitting on 5 could still reliably fill the pot for another 2 turns. I had already gotten 3 shredders with another 2 possible if the game had continued (failed assassination run by the opponent). That 10 point combo realistically returned 20 points of shredders to continually kill infantry models and contest zones. While it was handing out puppet master to warlords, swordsmen, Kryssa, and Azrael.
Another thing to note is that the Croc pot can spend it's own corpse tokens to boost it's hit and damage rolls for it's offensive spell casting. Spectral lash on a boosted 7 to hit and boostable pow 12 is legit. Then it pushes the model D6" closer.
So what does that do for Kryssa? In Oracles or CotD you can take the Beast mistress. Because nothing on Kryssa's card requires it to be in her battle group it's just more efficient to use a BM. So shredders with flank are pow 13 WM with 3 attacks one being boosted damage from the free charge. I pay 2 points per swordsman so the shredder (in a round about way) equals 3 swordsmen. The shredder can have pathfinder. It can get a 2" placement from the BM for 11.5" threat. Then we can figure in the BM as a pow 12 WM (flank lesser) with 5 attacks. Those are pretty impressive numbers considering the point investment. Granted a feat is involved and I would say it's not the best use of free points in CotD when you have options like warlords and Craelix. but even at 4 points just for the BM I don't think it's a bad deal.
Lastly; how had I forgotten that Raeks have Long leash?? I've been using a Neraph outside of ctrl range with a pet shepherd to try and get a decent battlegroup presence with Kryssa. Poor thing never got to benefit from her feat. Yet two Raeks sitting in my bag are just scoffing at my stupidity... they are my new favorite thing. Plus I like jamming (living) infantry with Cloak of ash striders. Jump a raek in there too and it's just a tarpit from hell.

I've had this Kyrssa list in my back pocket for a while, but haven't put it on the table yet. Mainly because I don't have the cash for a 2nd archangel and I can't find Kryssa not in the battlebox to purchase anywhere.
Kryssa OoA -Archangel -Archangel Sorceress & Hellion (free) Shepherd Full Hex Hunters w/ Bayal (free) BFS Ice Witches
Hex hunters with ashen veil should be a good speed bump with stealth and def 16 vs living enemies in melee. Archangel's new animus should be fun with all the cont. fire that will be spreading around on feat turn. BFS are there to help break arm during off feat turns and the ice witches can help as well with puppet master or stationary/drop def of targets. Should be a fast to play list that could be useful for quick turn tournaments.

I talk about it on episode 4 of Blight Bringers, if you'd like a more in-depth discussion: museonminis.com/blight-bringers-ep-04/In brief, the list is designed for attrition, and attempts to maximize her kit to amplify a larger army. The theme of this list is that you use the spirit cauldron to put corpses on the spawning vessel on turn one, and then top it off when you're not collecting enough corpses to continue to fuel the beast mistress' shredder army later in the game. If you don't need to create corpses, and you probably won't once you make contact, you can use the magic abilities to pull things into threat or zap something, or to put puppet master onto an important model/unit. Positioning is a bit tricky between the various corpse and spawning mechanics, utilizing the shepherds to extend the beast mistress' forcing range for the shredders, and getting things in position for order of activation – so be mindful of where you want things the following turn. I'd encourage anyone looking at Kryssa to check it out, and let me know how it goes!

Been mulling through PT with all the casters now that all the models are (almost) released and I sat and thought about Kyrssa for a bit. PT lists can be built with few beasts so that benefits her low fury. Her spell list can help pretty much everything, cloak of ashes can help deliver chosen while the rest crowd around the BB and tac supremacy can allow you to rearrange models to get all the med bases where they need to go. Add onto the fact that her feat is +3 STR, which will doubly affect the warspears and she has quickness to ensure that she will be in the right spot for feat to reach as much as possible. She does tread on Anamag's toes and can only achieve a +3 swing whereas Anamag can do a +4 swing on feat turn.
Not sure if it will be worth the time but might be something fun to try.

It's something I've been considering as well. Though I don't think I want to go fully into PT as I'm just stuck on that one golden list... What can she do? Cloak of ash Not a great tool on Ogrun. They start with low Def so against say; a charger. It still gets hits easily and dies to average damage. Now, I know chargers are a very specific case but 90% of my MK3 games were against cygnar so it's always my first consideration. So how do we make CoA a bigger deal? Well, if you are talking PT anyways... take a blightbringer. So the unit will get the arm buff and the Def buff from CoA for a nice 14/18 stat line. Not bad. But one step further is warspears. Set them up in charge distance of <Not Heavy warnoun> and you're looking at 16/18 due to set defense. I think that's pretty respectable to dissuade a head on charge. But that's one unit clumped into the aura area of the BB. So then I guess it goes into the whole, take a hellmouth and shoot the tentacle where you want the AoE to land. Also, Golab likes to not die horribly. So he's probably not a bad target for CoA either. Tactical Supremacy Warmongers. Get their charge off, kill something big and try to walk 3 to get back into engagement. Try to deny shooting so that you have to deal with Unyielding. Blightbringer. Captain slow got fast~er in CiD but this could let him get just that little bit closer after contributing a shot. I still recommend taking Azrael along in PT. Feat Does Not Apply to mount attacks. So I personally would want to stay away from Chosen. Warspears cost the same and can hit just as hard vs their prey target. So with the BB aura Kryssa sits at a very respectable Pow 18 under feat. Defense 14/18 or 16/18 vs a charge. I would never think about Not taking Golab with her. So it gives her a lot more personal contribution that many people seem to believe she lacks. Lastly Rotwings. Swordsmen with flight and .5" longer threat range. With the BB they would reach the exact same pow as swordsmen in CotD. Just one MAT lower. Hint; take Gorag. This, for me, is the main advantage I'll try to be leveraging. Swordsmen and warlords just put out so much damage. Rotwings are cheaper, faster, and more expendable. I can get 12 birds for the points I pay for 8 swordsmen (UA included in that count). So if you wanted to go in a fully opposite direction from tanky Ogrun; take a ton of birds. I mean there's a whole movie about just how scary they can be The big problem in the end is - how do you fit it all in one list? Well you can't... Azrael eats up too many points. But if you really wanted; you're looking at 2 full units of Warspears with UA, BB, Azrael, and Golab. That's it. Even dropping them to min units you can only fit in a min unit of warmongers and no Gorag. So it's tough. Drop Azrael and you get a lot more room to work with. conflictchamber.com/#ca201b_-0-g3kEkKcocokPkFb5kLb8csb8csLegion Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Primal Terrors [Kryssa 1] Kryssa, Conviction of Everblight [+31] - Blightbringer [32] - Golab [17] Spell Martyr [1] Spell Martyr [1] Warmonger War Chief [0(5)] Blighted Ogrun Rotwings (min) [7] Blighted Ogrun Warmongers (min) [8] - Gorag Rotteneye [0(6)] Blighted Ogrun Warspears (max) [15] - Warspear Chieftan [5] Blighted Ogrun Warspears (max) [15] - Warspear Chieftan [5] Gets the spell martyrs Kryssa always wants. Keeps the fury max low. Gives quite a good handful of models with the ability to mop up infantry if needed. Again, I myself don't want to play that list. I'm just weird. But if I had to play PT. That's what I would run. (Okay, I might just forgo the BB and pick Azrael back up but that's a HARD choice)

Also, Golab likes to not die horribly. So he's probably not a bad target for CoA either. Bringing warmonger/spears/chosen up to def 14 vs ranged and living enemies isn't quite as trivial as you make it. Def 14 will make anything that can't boost have a hard time hitting it. You're comparison to how hard it is for a charger to hit them is a bit skewed. If you were comparing how hard it would be for a trencher infantry to hit def 12 vs def 14 it would be closer. At rat 6 they will hit the ogrun's def 12 almost all the time, at def 14 they need 8s to hit and their chances go down significantly.
Tac supremacy can also allow you to shift models around for your second wave to get in on targets that didn't die to the first wave. Can also allow you to re-shuffle model locations to allow the BB better movement options to get its aura in the right places. Feat Does Not Apply to mount attacks. So I personally would want to stay away from Chosen. Warspears cost the same and can hit just as hard vs their prey target. Off topic:I see chosen (usually with CoA) as a zone tar pit. They match angelii in stats (14/17) with rapid healing, tough, and any terrain bonuses will force your opponent to commit a decent amount of their force to remove them.
On topic: Her feat granting +3 str does affect the warpsears thrown weapon. So during feat turn they will have a +5 dmg swing against their prey target with 12 attacks. Most lists I throw together have double spears and a single unit of mongers w/ gorag.
So if you wanted to go in a fully opposite direction from tanky Ogrun; take a ton of birds. I mean there's a whole movie about just how scary they can be I don't have rotwings, they look decent on paper and swarms of them under feat should be able to do work. I hardly ever consider Kyrssa's melee contribution to the game. If she is getting into melee something has gone horribly wrong. The big problem in the end is - how do you fit it all in one list? Well you can't... Azrael eats up too many points. But if you really wanted; you're looking at 2 full units of Warspears with UA, BB, Azrael, and Golab. That's it. This was one list that I was considering trying with her. Bellows crew can help keep Kyrssa safe and block LOS. Two units of ogrun hunker around the BB while the last one gets CoA and runs a flank. Golab is there for clean up hitting at pow 17/14 wm on feat turn. Spell martyrs can cap flags. Not entirely optimal but could be interesting.
I don't think Azreal is needed in PT lists, he likes all of what Kryssa brings, but might not be worth the points in an ogrun-centric list.

So, in my normal continuation of "crazy". I want to move in a new direction with my "definitive" Kryssa list... Yeah still out of theme. It's even more scatter brained in model selection but I swear, I have thought out reasons. conflictchamber.com/#ca201bg3g_kKbvbubqfUfUcokPb6kLb3b4Legion Army - 75 / 75 points [Kryssa 1] Kryssa, Conviction of Everblight [+31] - Azrael [21] - Golab [17] - Naga Nightlurker [8] - Succubus [4] Annyssa Ryvaal [8] Blighted Nyss Warlord [5] Blighted Nyss Warlord [5] Spell Martyr [1] Warmonger War Chief [5] Blighted Ogrun Warmongers (max) [13] - Gorag Rotteneye [6] Strider Scouts [9] - Strider Scout Officer & Musician [4] I've got something from literally every different theme. But if you're here you already know the deal. Additions: Golab - With lightning strike as an animus it can still serve the same purpose as the Neraph did (before Raeks). It can assist Kryssa more in her turn-by-turn commitment issues. Can step up to a much higher damage output. Can act as anti-tough and RFP if needed... and I just painted him and it looks flipping fantastic. Warmongers - Pow 14 is basically getting me the same damage as swordsmen. Maybe less cuz more dice = more spikes. But less attack volume. So it's a tough call here. Normally however I'm loosing 2-3 swordsmen barring any all melee armies. I may end up missing the counter charge Champ. But I think the durability shift makes up for it all. They will likely be getting Repo 3 on their engagement turn just to try and keep them engaged as much as possible. Kryssa herself can only do so much for them. If I want to throw them at warjacks I literally can do nothing to support them. ( I HATE that about Cloak of Ash) Gorag - something I've seen go around against Kryssa is no innate accuracy buff. Never was sure why that was a problem as few casters come with one but it's not a completely misplaced emotions. It's why I take the Strider UA. It's why I was testing so much with the Black Frost Shard. It's still a factor in why people besides me use the Seraph. So yes, Gorag is going to be following around the mongers but he can still project the Def debuff out to 8". Most importantly I feel like this should be use with her Howling flames. Yes I did like having the bloodseer for this exact reason but he never worked out for much of anything but making that bubble. The Bloodseer is also limited to only magical attacks. Gorag can also help Azrael hit high Def more reliably. Even bump up the striders if they need to get in and clear lanes (cuz UA has repo). That ability alone makes him worth entirely committing to the warmongers. It's also the #1 reason it's not a unit of Warspears. Warmonger Warchief - why? I mean come one, WHY? No one even takes this model in PT for free. Why would I ever consider this? During the first journeyman league I took this guy. I didn't hate him. I've always wanted to find some use for the pair I have. Right now this list lacks a durable flag sitter. I know that's a dumb as dirt reason to take him. I know I've got warlords. But I cannot leave those guys out of the fight for any reason. Craelix had been the designated sitter before, but we're trying to do something new. He is also there for blood drinker. It's an RFP against living and stop my warmongers from berserking on each other. I mean yes positioning matters but sometimes it's just not a luxury we are given. I want to keep him around as a late game piece. Nothing else [in this list] really does that anymore. I don't feel bad holding him back for that purpose either and his stats should be just good enough. In truth it may just get swapped back out for craelix or a hellmouth. Subtractions Incubii - with out the body count from the swordsmen the incubii are just to predictable. Swordsmen - "what a nice spring day. Oh! what's that a stiff br-" splat. Def 16 is still hard as crud to hit but it seems lists with high accuracy options are a little more common than they were not too long ago. Might just be me and moving to a new store. Craelix - I want him to sit on a flag and shoot stuff. Often these idea conflict greatly. Even with repo 3". Raeks - cuz Golab! really, I still think they are great. But pow 17 WM just cannot be passed up. At least for a good few runs in testing.
