Hi all - I'm a fairly new player that somehow found himself organizing a ~12 player journeyman league at my local store. I was thinking maybe someone with some experience with journeyman can give me some suggestions on what scenario to play at 15 points. There's a mix of new players, veterans to MK3 and straight up 3+ year veterans in the league. I'd like to pick something that the longtime players would enjoy (i.e. not Mangled Metal again) but also keep it simple for the new players since this will be the first time playing scenario for them which adds a layer of complexity. Of course, #1 is fun and balanced play! Thanks to anyone that can help.

A scenario I like for new players is: 1 circle zone in the center.
Control/dominate zone for 1cp. First to 3cp wins.
It introduces the concept and importance behind scenario while not being as big a game component as it is in larger games.
Once you get to 25-35 points, go ahead and use some of the simpler steam roller scenarios. Definitely introduce kill box at that point.

Ok cool - thanks, I'll pitch that to the group. Just so I understand, control is any solo, jack or full unit, and dominate is caster, correct? If you're opponent has a model in the zone it doesnt count.

Looks about right. Just to note though, a unit doesn't need to be full to control, just above 50% starting strength (rounded up). Also, models that are out of formation and warcasters/warlocks don't count as contesting models. Rarer, especially in small games, inert/wild jacks/beasts neither control nor contest.
Good luck with your event!

Good luck with your Journeyman league. They are a lot of fun and a great way yo bring new players into a faction or the game.

Definitely encourage painting as much as possible, btw. Do group painting, read tips and share them. Encourage the hobby and community aspect of it to keep new player's attention.

Yes! Thanks Forsaken!
PhoenixForger, yep I am reminding people to paint up in the Facebook group as well as taking pictures and posting them after the matches. People get to show off their models and get hype to paint the next batch.

No further advice to add, just a pat on the back and some virtual cookies for you. Kudos for doing this for your local community, it's this kind of initiative that make this a great game to be a part of. Hat off to you, kind sir!
