So the rules are up on the CID forums and they are looking really good, there are lots of changes to various models as well as all of the new rules for the new models. I don't have much time to write up a full description but here are some of the big points.
- Jaja-jaja gains Signs and Portends: (Yes.. this happened..) (Lost Spell Piecer) - Jaja-Jaja's feat was changed to be d3+5 Sacrificial Strikes (Remove a model in your command to do an auto hitting attack against a model within 5'' of it) - Death Pact on Maelok went from Target model/unit to everyone in control. - Swamp Horror gained Chain Strike - Witch Doc's Zombify grants Last Word instead of tough (Short move and attack on death) - Witch Doc gained Death Ride which grants +1 movement to undead models activating in its command. - Thrullg gained pathfinder and prowl - Croak hunter gained Repo3, Hunter, and Mat7 - Bone Swarm gained steady - Various point adjustments. - Dahlia Hallyr allowed in theme
Overall I am super excited about all of the changes not to mention the new models which I haven't had a chance to read through. They are not really any of the changes that we've discussed but there are a lot of really cool and really powerful changes in here.

Key, may end up problematic points.
1. Jagajaga's feat works on beasts, get 5 beasts near the caster, cast s+p then feat for pow 19 autohits 2. Theme gives posse snacking, witch doctor gives them last word. Posse killed by infantry move 3 and eat an infantry to heal back up.

I didn't realize that.

I don't think the Last Word thing will be a huge problem (since it is one model), though it is funny. I cannot imagine Jaga's feat remains that way. A more realistic scenario is Ambushers come running in and id the caster is within 18" of a table side ... bam. It forces the enemy caster to a 12" box in the center of the table.

I'm kind of upset about not being able to death pact the dracodile, but otherwise this looks pretty good so far

I'm so turned on by Maelok and JagaJaga right now...
New Death Pact make Posse insanely resilient with Maelok. They're all ARM20 in melee and 22 in feat turn!
Having played against Dreamer I really know the power of Signs&Portents which makes me happy to see it on JagaJaga. Her new feat seems awesome as well!

Also I just considered that since maelok makes his entire battlegroup undead, all of his beasts can benefit from death ride. That's also pretty cool. Looking forward to trying out maelok as much as I can for the cid

S+P is baller. Vlad Rockets is stupid good, because it increases the likely-hood of spikes on a decent POW hit. Casting S+P and SpellPiercer is basically an all-in move, but it will absolutely wreck, especially with either multiple attack models or boosted attacks. A Swamp Horror with Rage and Chain Strike might be able to get to a Colossal with four dice on the attack, and that critical hit is insane on them.
I don't really know what to think about that feat, beyond I like the flavor and hope they find a way to make it work. That interaction mentioned between snacking and Last Word attack is super cool, I hope it stays. I'm ok with GMP going back to the top of the heap of heavy infantry. Minions already has a limited pool to draw from, so might as well make them the best in their own theme.
Edit: Forgot Chain Strike only applies to the tentacles, and the Huge bases can't be dragged. So no extra threat range of a critical bite. It still makes a boosted bite attack roll super dangerous.

spellpiercer is gone, it was replaced by s+p. No lack of magic attacks though, with her feat.

They wanted to get rid of Meat Mountains, thus Ogrun, medium based Exemplar and Cataphracts being all but deleted from the game. Now there's the strongest Meat Mountain ever with Maelok. Seems a bit too good to me. Jaga-Jaga's feat should only let you target a model once. If you feel like it you can play a game of waiting to randomly assassinate their caster and there's nothing they can do about it. Grind, grind, ok I can run some models at you GG. Boneswarm is still atrocious. Swamp horror needs to be tested. Other stuff I'm pretty happy with. If never having a reason to run a non-battlegroup Thornfall model again is happy

Did they actually say they wanted to get rid of meat mountain or is that an inference?
Cause its coming strong again with the MoW theme as is, much less this one.

It was part of an insider forever ago talking about reducing most medium based infantry to 5 boxes. Arm 20 and 8 boxes is extremely resilient, plus tough, snacking, revive...
